The Black Pnthers are seeking their first win in the tournament.

Mohammedan Sporting Club will need to deliver upfront against SAIL Football Academy Burnpur if they want to remain in the hunt for semifinal berth in the ongoing 122nd U-19 IFA Shield. The clash at Barasat Stadium begins on Sunday July 8, 2018 at 2:45 pm.

Mohammedan SC did not get the start they were hoping for. Following an opening that promised much against ATK, Mohammedan SC's spark fizzled as the clash progressed, before ultimately being pegged back by the resilient ATK outfit. Although Deep Mondal's 80th-minute goal saved the day for Mohammedan SC but the game leaves many questions unanswered.

Players looked comfortable on the ball and created a number of promising opportunities but they lacked cutting edge in the final third.

Mohammedan SC coach Mohammad Sahid has admitted nerves got better of his players in their opening match, and he hopes they will be more settled and confident against SAIL. They will again go into the match against SAIL as clear favourites but Sahid insists his side won’t be taking anything for granted.

"It would be a mistake to underestimate SAIL. It’s a very important game and we can’t be complacent. We will go into the match with full respect to our opponent.” Sahid said.

SAIL, on the other hand, may feel that they failed to do themselves justice in their opening match and are eager to give a better account of themselves this time around.

After being thrashed 6-1 by East Bengal on their U-19 IFA Shield debut, SAIL will need to be at their best to keep Mohammedan SC at bay. Coach Trijit Das knows that it will not get any easier against the Young Panthers, but he believes his side is more than capable of causing an upset.
