Chennaiyin conceded yet another late goal to draw in the final minutes at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday evening. Chennaiyin FC

Karanjit Singh– 6.0

As is often the case, his distribution left a lot to be desired. That said, he proved yet again why he’s considered a top-class goalkeeper, making a string of saves, with his denying Romeo Fernandes being the best of those. There wasn’t a lot he could have done about the two goals he conceded, though.

Dhanachandra Singh -6.0

The 30-year-old defender made the most out of his rare start, as he had a commanding display at the back, alongside Mailson Alves. Although he’ll likely return to the bench upon Henrique Sereno’s recuperating, his performance ought to give his manager a food for thought.

Jerry Lalrinzuala -6.0

The AIFF Elite Academy product produced yet another display that shall convince the observers that he needs to be playing at a higher level. Although his being a major attacking threat is now a given, he showcased his defensive strength, making crucial interceptions and blocks.

Dhanapal Ganesh -7.0

The Chennai-born midfielder looked uncharacteristically underwhelming today, as he often misplaced passes. One of his many mispasses almost cost his team big, as Lallianzuala Chhangte and co. spurned an opportunity to convert what was served on a platter.

Germanpreet Singh -8.0

The former Minerva Punjab midfielder proved today that Chennai have more than one creative player in Raphael Augusto, as he made numerous defence-splitting passes, with an impressive passing accuracy of 75 percent. Plus, he set up Chennai’s second.

Francisco Fernandes -6.0

The Goa-born winger often found himself in dangerous positions; however, he failed to capitalize on those as he missed a handful of chances and half-chances. Sometimes seen wasting too much time on the ball and often found struggling against Dutch full-back Jeroen Lumu, he’s definitely had better days on the pitch.

Jeje Lalpekhlua -9.0

Jeje was on song on his 27th Birthday

Collecting a brace, he essentially silenced his critics who have been questioning his ability to spearhead the table-toppers’ line-up. His second goal, a curling stunner, in particular, showed why he’s always had the trust of John Gregory, the Chennai manager. The MOTM by a country mile, he was.

Anirudh Thapa -NA

He didn’t have enough time on the pitch to have a major impact on the game.

Pritam Kotal –6.0

Although he didn’t have a poor game by any standard, his little contribution during the attacking phases meant he hardly had a memorable game. Chennai attacked heavily from his side of the pitch, with Jerry Lalrinzuala and Gregory Nelson turning him a few times.

Pratik Chowdhary -6.0

Much like the Delhi right-back, he struggled against Chennai’s left-sided players. With zero interceptions and one tackle, he had a statistically poor showing. He – and the rest of Delhi’s defence – need to up their game considerably to boost their chances of climbing up the table.

Vinit Rai -6.0

He was everywhere on the pitch, but he contributed little to the attack. Reluctant to be inventive, he mostly passed sideways. However, with the Chennai midfield having a good game, he did only what he could do.

Lallianzuala Chhangte -7.0

The pacy Indian international winger proved an eager beaver again, as he tried to make things happen in the attacking half; however, with no chemistry with his teammates, he didn’t create high-quality chances. His most noteworthy moment saw him fail to finish from six yards out, after the Chennai ‘keeper had parried away Romeo Fernandes’ close-range shot.

Romeo Fernandes -7.0

Romeo Fernandes and Chhangte were denied a goal by a collective heroic effort by the Chennaiyin team

Although he had a slow start to the game, he grew into the game as the time went. He looked lively until the final minutes, as he also looked keen on creating goal-scoring chances for his teammates. He was easily the most industrious player on the pitch in the second half.

Nandhakumar Sekar -8.0

Playing in front of a crowd that adores him, the former Chennai City winger had an amazing game, making penetrative passes that unsettled the Chennai defence. Creating Delhi’s opener, he proved what Chennai have been lacking this season – a creative Indian winger.

David Ngaihte -7.0

With Delhi playing with no clear-cut centre-forward, he dropped deep sometimes to create chances for his fellow forwards. There were moments when Delhi would have benefitted had he chosen to be less flashy with his moves. Having said that, he scored Delhi’s only goal, a diving bullet header past Karanjit Singh.

Rowilson Rodrigues- NA

He didn’t have enough time on the pitch to have a major impact on the game.
