Watch: FC Pune City 3-0 ATK highlights

FC Pune City

Vishal Kaith- 7.5

Vishal emerged as the better goalkeeper of the two. Although, he wasn’t tested much because of a combination of good defending by his teammates and a poor attacking display from the away team, Kaith did save the only two chances that were shot on goal.

Gurtej Singh- 8.5

Gurtej was like a wall in defence for Pune City and kept the ATK strikers at bay. He delivered one of the best performances of his of the season. The defender made a staggering nine clearances and had a passing accuracy of a whopping 88%.

Adil Khan- 9.0

Adil Khan goal

Much has been said about the Pune defender and rightly so. Adil Khan opened the scoring for his side with a header off Marcelinho's’s corner. Adil Khan kept a good check on the advancement of Zequinha and Keegan Pereira by almost eliminating the presence of the later from the game. He was a bit sloppy at times, but five tackles, one pinpoint cross and two clearances meant he finished the game on a happy note.

Rohit Kumar- 8.0

Rohit goal

Rohit scored the third goal of the home team through an assist from Sarthak Golui. Apart from scoring the goal, Rohit did well enough in defence as well. Rohit Kumar had 41 touches on the ball with a passing accuracy of 58%. A performance from the 20-year-old that stakes his claim for a place in the upcoming fixtures.

Jewel Raja- 7.0

Jewel Raja clearance

Jewel's most notable contribution in the game was the header with which he blocked what could have been an equaliser for ATK. He was also instrumental in the team's build-up play and did all he could to stop the much acclaimed ATK midfield. Tje midfielder, playing in a rather defensive position, created a chance for the team, had a passing accuracy of 55% and cleared the ball thrice from dangerous situations.

Sahil Panwar- 7.5

Sahil Panwar was a debutant who never looked like one. A Pune City academy product, Sahil was very calm and composed throughout the game and showed no signs of nervousness while dealing with his more experienced counterparts. Sahil made six tackles and had two clearances to show.

Substitutes

Sarthak Golui- 8.0

Sarthak Golui, one of the finds of the season, was substituted in for Jewel Raja. Sarthak after coming in, changed the complexion of the game. The dominating ATK were suddenly left wanting for the ball in the opposition third.

Golui did equally well in attack and the assist for Rohit Kumar’s goal is a testament to the same. In a short stint of 40 minutes, Sarthak assisted once and created two more chances. A super-sub performance from the youngster.

ATK

Debjit Majumdar- 4.0

Debjit has been praised much off late by the coach and he was expected to come out on top against the mighty attacking prowess of Pune. But, much to the sadness of his coach and the fans, the goalkeeper had a forgettable performance. The shot-stopper did make two saves but couldn’t stop the other three from going in.

Prabir Das- 7.5

Prabir Das, along with Jayesh Rane, was the best Indian on the pitch for the team from Kolkata. Das continued from where he had left off in the previous game against NorthEast United.

While the other full-back from ATK was kept out of the game, Prabir as always, stamped his authority on the right flank of ATK. Prabir delivered four crosses in Pune’s defensive box, cleared the ball out of danger twice and blocked a further two shots.

Keegan Pereira- 5.5

Keegan was kept out of the game by terrific performances from otwoof Pune’s most loved players Adil Khan and Marcelinho. The only positives for the lef- back were the four crosses that he put in the box. Keegan has zero blocks, no intercepts or tackles to show.

Hitesh Sharma- 5.0

It has not been much time since ATK coach Teddy Sheringham last applauded and praised the youngster, Hitesh Sharma and definitely would not be the last time until the end of the season. Given so much good talk about him, much was expected from the midfielder in a game that could have perhaps decided the fate of ATK's playoffs contention.

But, the young lad was a pale shadow of what he has been throughout the season. Hitesh barely got any touches on the ball and was easily defeated in aerial duels. Only 2% touches of the team's total meant that Sharma was totally kept out of the game.

Jayesh Rane- 6.5

Jayesh was good in some parts and poor in the rest. He did well to combine with Rupert Nongrum and Prabir on the right flank but the trio couldn’t produce anything worthy for the away team. His minimal good work went to no avail. Rane had a shot off target, created one chance, rather a half-chance and had a passing accuracy of 67%.

Rupert Nongrum- 6.0

Rupert Nongrum was played in an attacking position but all he did was defend. Good in defence, Rupert drew a blank in attack terms. Rupert created no chances and had no shots on or off the target. Defensively, he made four blocks and intercepted a pass.

Substitutes

Robin Singh- 6.0

Robin Singh came in at the cost of the struggling Hitesh Sharma but he himself looked clueless against the crowdy Pune City FC defence. Robin did score but the header was adjudged as an offside one. ATK players were caught offside many times, five to be precise, but this was the one they will rue the most.

Bipin Singh- NA.

Came in too late to make any worthy contribution to the game.
