The visitors continued their unbeaten home run, while the Men of Steel are in fourth position now.

It was a game which was mostly played in the middle of the park as both the teams registered only combined one shot on target. The result of the match could have swayed either way, as both the teams had their fair share of chances in front of the box, but the  defences of both the teams stood tall and made sure that they let none pass.

In the first half, clear-cut chances were few and far between. Some of the notable ones include Pablo Morgado’s mazy dribble into the box, when Memo provided him the ball with an accurate lobbed pass, but the Spanish winger failed to make the chance count as his shot flew inches wide of the post. Bartholomew Ogbeche, the Nigerian striker of NorthEast as well as Mario Arques, the Spanish midfielder of Jamshedpur came close to giving their respective sides the lead in a game, but failed as their shots on goal lacked the accuracy to trouble the two custodians in goal.

In the early stages of the second half, NorthEast were attacking with a bit more intent and they even came close to giving the Highlanders an advantage in the game, but Tiri, Jamshedpur’s captain with an acrobatic clearance inside the box made sure that his side kept a clean-sheet.

In the latter stages of the second half Jamshedpur started pressing NorthEast high up the pitch which earned them a corner kick as the NorthEast were forced to play out the ball and corner could have almost rewarded the Men of Steel with a goal as the delivery into the box reached Memo but his shot was blocked by Gallego with a fine sliding tackle.

One of the best chances for Jamshedpur in the game fell on to the boots of the local lad, Mobashir Rahman in the team as his dipping volley flew inches over the bar. The game finally ended in a 0-0 draw as both sides failed to breach their opposition’s defence.

The NorthEast gaffer when asked to lay down his thoughts upon the game, “Well we had to play back to back two games within a very short period of time and also the long journey from Pune to Jamshedpur didn’t help in any way either so most of the players were facing fatigue and due to which they couldn’t give in their best in today’s game,” Eelco opined.

“Also, Jamshedpur are a very good side and many few teams have come here and went back with a clean sheet as well a point so on that regards I appreciate my team and I look forward to the remaining games of my side before the long winter break and I want my team to get maximum points out of the remaining fixtures,” he added.

When being asked to express his views on the schedule of the matches ,” Well I am not complaining here but some teams in the league really have got a very tight schedule as there are very few days gap in between some matches, for me and my team I prefer at least a three day break between two games but we are taking it as a challenge and would try to get results irrespective of the schedule,” Eelco expressed.

Next, the Jamshedpur gaffer was asked to lay down his thoughts upon the game and also comment on the fact that the free-scoring Jamshedpur were not able to score even a single goal today, “ We played against a very good side today who in style also play a lot like us , they were good with their passing and made it difficult for us when we went in the attacking third so in all it was an end to end match and I would have definitely liked all the three points but at the I am moment content with the one point which we earned today,”Cesar confined.

“Also in today’s game I felt the tempo of our play should have been higher as against good teams the only way you break down the defence is by constant waves of attack also we played a lot of long balls which is not our forte as we mostly play short quick one-twos so definitely there’s a lot of room for improvement in our side and in the future matches we will make sure that the mistakes which we are committing now and the things which we are lacking are covered up,” Cesar further added.
