The likes of Nikhil Kadam, Rowllin Borges and Jackichand Singh are in solid form in the current season.

The fifth season of the Indian Super League has seen pre-tournament favourites take further tumbles, while new frontrunners have emerged, as the table is beginning to take shape. FC Goa sit on top after four games, followed by NorthEast United and Bengaluru FC.

In this article, we at Khel Now have compiled the Indian team for ISL Gameweek 4:

Seriton and Ricky will play the full-back roles in this 4-2-3-1 formation

Ravi Kumar

The shot-stopper put in a good performance against Delhi

The Mumbai City FC goalkeeper made his Indian Super League debut for his side, following their 5-0 drubbing at the hands of FC Goa earlier last week and did not disappoint. The 25-year-old commanded his box with catches and saves, including a crucial one to stop a stunning effort from Andrija Kaluderovic, ensuring that Mumbai City walked away with the three points against Delhi.

Seriton Fernandes

The right-back was instrumental in FC Goa’s 5-0 thumping of Mumbai as he provided the assist for his side’s second goal with a perfectly weighted cross. The Indian also made two clearances and two crucial blocks to make sure that his side walked away with a clean-sheet.

Subashish Bose

Subhasish Bose was questioned for his defensive abilities prior to the start of the season. However, the 23-year-old has excelled since he pulled on the Mumbai jersey. He provided width to his side’s attack with marauding and overlapping runs which culminated in dangerous crosses into the opposition box, while also tracking back to fulfil his defensive responsibilities.

With seven clearances, three tackles, two blocks and two interceptions, Bose takes one of the centre-back spots in our XI.

Chinglensana Singh

Another FC Goa defender in our XI, Chinglensana commanded his backline to perfection against the Islanders, making crucial tackles and clearances that made sure that Mumbai had no way back into the game.

Two tackles, two clearances and a whopping 84% pass accuracy earns Chinglesana Singh a place in our lineup.

Ricky Lallawmawana:

The left-back was charged with keeping the defending champions’ tricky attacker Thoi Singh at bay in their game at the Salt Lake Stadium. The ATK defender put in a valiant performance making four tackles and a few important blocks to make sure that his side held onto their lead.

Milan Singh

The Mumbai City midfielder had a point to prove following his side’s embarrassing defeat at the hands of Goa earlier in the week. He brought back all the tenacity and aggression that we have come to expect from the 26-year-old as he bossed the midfield against Delhi.

Rowlin Borges

The midfielder has been robust and solid this season

The NorthEast United midfielder produced an assured yet aggressive performance against Jamshedpur FC from the middle of the park. Despite going into the referee’s book for indiscipline, Borges take his place in the midfield of our side.

Romeo Fernandes

The winger was up against one of the most in-form full-backs in the league in Subhasish Bose, yet he still managed to look dangerous and put in crosses of quality. Despite Delhi Dynamos putting in a very average performance against Mumbai, Romeo was one of his side’s standout performers.

Jackichand Singh

The winger has been in good form this season

The Indian winger was irrepressible against Mumbai City as he contributed to his side’s impressive victory with a goal as well as being a constant threat to the opposition defence. If that was not enough, Singh also performed admirably going backwards, with one clearance and three tackles, making him one of the best Indian players on the pitch.

Nikhil Kadam

Despite only playing the first half as he was sacrificed by his manager following a red card to Mislav Komorski, the Indian attacker performed admirably and played an important role in his side’s 20th-minute opening goal. NEUFC went on to draw the game 1-1.

Farukh Choudhary

The energetic attacker was on top form against NEUFC as he scored the equalizer with a well-taken first-time finish. His overall movement and threat to a depleted NorthEast United defence meant that he was pronounced the Man of the Match.
