The India international winger has penned a three-year deal with the Marina Machans.

Just two days after completing a stunning double transfer coup, two-time Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champions, Chennaiyin FC are back making headlines with the signing of former Delhi Dynamos and Blues Tigers winger, Lallianzuala Chhangte, on a three-year deal. The club announced the transfer on Friday evening and seem to be shaping up quite nicely ahead of the coming season.

Born in Mizoram, Chhangte demonstrated real skills and talent from a very young age, with a lot of prominent teams taking note of his abilities. Hero I-League outfit, DSK Shivajians finally grabbed the youngster and provided him with the opportunity to showcase his potential at youth competitions.

Recognizing his flair, NorthEast United FC loaned Chhangte for the Hero ISL 2016 season. He made his debut against Mumbai City FC at the start of November that year but failed to earn any more minutes that season. The youngster was also unsuccessful in gaining any substantial playing time in the Hero I-League term that followed immediately after, making two appearances and failing to score even once.

In late 2015 though, the winger did manage to earn his first cap for the country, as he replaced Robin Singh in the second half of the clash against Sri Lanka in the SAFF Championship.

Despite the lack of involvement in the season before, Chhangte was picked by the Dynamos for the Hero ISL 2017-18, with the winger repaying the trust in terrific fashion. He was the only player to feature in all 18 matches for the Lions that term, also contributing with three goals and as many assists.

Last season again was just as efficient in terms of both output and appearances for the 22-year-old. He scored five goals and provided one assist, with his conversion rate improving by three percent. The winger was also taking more shots and attempting more crosses, thereby showing massive refinement within a short period. Internationally, Chhangte has represented India nine times and has scored four goals.
