Goa to host Junior Girl’s National Football Championship 2018-19
The western state will host the championship for the second time in four years.
The Goa Football Association are set to host the Junior Girl’s National Football Championship which will be held between 20th August and 31st August 2018.
24 states will participate in the Junior Championship altogether, which will run for 12 days. The Duler Football stadium, owned by Goa Football Association will host the most of the matches, while the association is waiting for the confirmation from the state government for the Fatorda Artificial Turf which will be another venue for the championship.
Junior Girl’s National Football Championship Groups
The teams have been divided into eight groups of three teams each where host Goa have been grouped along with Jharkhand and Chandigarh. Whereas, defending champions Manipur has been slotted in the group D with Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand, while last season’s runners-up Odisha are grouped with Arunachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

The group matches will be played between 20th August and 25th August, while, the eight group winners will qualify for quarter-finals which will be played on 27th of the same month. The semifinals will be played on 29th August followed by the championship match on last day of the month.

GFA had organised this Championship in the year 2015 where Manipur had outclassed Odisha by five goals in the finals to emerge the champions.
