MS Dawngliana scored the deciding goal for the winners in the second half.
A second-half goal from MS Dawngliana was enough to ensure Chhinga Veng FC retain their I-Day crown as they lifted the LG Independence Cup for the second season in a row.
The reigning Mizoram Premier League champions are on an undefeated streak this season with the MFA Super Cup already in their bag as they look to seal another treble-winning season this year.
Dense fog had engulfed AR Lammual in the first half with the low visibility resulting in the match being halted twice for a certain period of time. The stoppages did not help both teams as they struggled to find proper rhythm in the first period.
When play did go on, chances were few and far between with only Lalromawia of Chhinga Veng FC having a clear threat on goal.
The fog cleared in halftime and the second half became on of the best 45 minutes of football this season as both teams looked to find the opener.
