Minerva Academy FC colts sink Kolkata based B.S Nadiya in the Administrators Challenge Cup opener
A high flying Minerva Academy FC challenge proved too strong for Kolkata based B.S Nadiya FC as they scored a whopping 16 goals with 7 coming in the Half Time itself…
Minerva Academy opened its account in the very 2nd Minute of the game with striker Shahjahan scoring a stunner and adding another to it in the first 12 minutes of the game. The strikers pace and run down tearing apart the opponents defence rewarded the Minervans with the third goal in just 16 minutes in the game. Probably the fastest hattrick scored in the history of the tournament the striker had no plans to rest.
Minervans dominating most of the proceedings saw young Manipuri blaster Nongdamba Naorem make matters worse for the visitors as he scored another 4 in the span of 25 minutes. Some beautiful dribbling skills from Azarudin on the flanks and some fine footwork again by young gun Shahjahan helped Nong smash a quick 4 goals and secure a second hattrick in the game giving the blue brigade a massive 7-0 lead and becoming clear favourites in the game.
The second half started as predicted with young Minervans looking to get the score board in double digits. And their efforts paid off in the very second minute as striker Shahjahan scored a cracking volley from twenty yards making it 8-0 in their favour. The visitors from Kolkata were left with no hope in the game but still tried hard to get a consolation but a rigid Minervan back four crashed aside all their challenges very comfortably giving them no chance nor hope.
Suddenly it seemed like a healthy lead of 8-0 in 48th Minute of the game didn’t satisfy the young blues as they went raiding the opponents defence with quick moves and some wonderful short passes. This time it was Bhagirat who got himself on the score board making it 9-0 but soon Nongdamba Naorem stepped up to make it 10-0 in the very next move scoring his 5th in the game.
The next 35 minutes saw Minervans score half a dozen goals with Arjun and skipper Jackson Singh scoring two each. Defender Thoiba Singh and winger Amarjeet Mishra scored one each and the game ended with Shahajahan scoring his 5th to make the scoreling 16-0 in favour of the roaring blues.
Minerva’s 16-0 win in its opner is a record scripted in history books of Administrators Challenge Cup with their goalscoring abilities breaking the highest score records comfortably. And thus a caution to other teams as the blues prove they are serious title contenders for this years edition.
The colts next take on Bengaluru based J.J Soccer Academy on 25th at 3PM in the Sector 42 International Football and Hockey Stadium, Chandigarh.
