The first day of round four proved to be entertaining in the Mizoram Premier League.
Bethlehem Vengthlang FC earned their first point of the season after equalising in the second half against newcomers Chawnpui FC in the opening match of round 4 at AR Lammual.
Chawnpui FC took the lead seconds before halftime through a freekick from maestro Vanlalthanga. The newly promoted team were the better team in the first period with David Laltlansanga and Lalruatfela missing chances to score.
Bethlehem Vengthlang FC improved in the second half and they got their goal on the 77th minute in an even battle. A fine corner delivery from Laldinliana Varte was met by the head of C. Lalrintluanga who sealed a much-needed goal for his team.
Both teams searched for the winner late on but they were able to cancel each other out at both ends.
The newcomers made their opponents pay for their profligacy in front of goal in the first half when they took the lead through Isaak Vanlalpeka's freekick on the 45th minute.
Chanmari FC who enjoyed a better first period had missed chances to score through Laldampuia and Vanlalbiaa while Lalnunzama could not capitalise when he was put through.
Rochhingpuia almost equalised in the second half but he could not test EFC's goalkeeper Nunga Hnamte. Then things got worse for Chanmari FC when Rosanga was sent off on the 68th minute reducing them to 10 men.
EFC struck four minutes later when Isaak grabbed his second off a delivery from Vanlalremkima. Lalnunzama maintained his hot streak for Chanmari FC when he pulled one back on the 86th minute but David Lalchhuanawma made sure of all three points when he scored EFC's third deep into stoppage time.
