The former Manchester United and Everton striker has scored this type of spectacular goal for every club he has played for.
In a Wednesday night kick-off in Washington D.C, the captain of D.C. United Wayne Rooney scored a goal from 65-yards from his own defensive half. He scored the only goal of the game in the 10th minute against Orlando City. The win took the team to the fifth position, just seven points behind table-toppers Los Angeles FC.
However, Wayne Rooney is accustomed to scoring the peculiar type of goal, having already scored twice prior to this one. He has scored one each for his previous clubs Manchester United and Everton and becomes the only man to score three goals from around the half-way line.
