Pep Guardiola denies claims of Manchester City's disrespect towards China fans
The Cityzens played two games in the country in the recently concluded Premier League Asia Trophy.
Spending their time in China to prepare for the next season, Manchester City has been blamed for disrespecting the local media while playing in the Premier League Asia Trophy. In an article published by Xinhua, Chinese state news agency, it has claimed that the Cityzens utterly disrespected the locals and just treated their trip to the country as 'nothing more than a commercial obligation.'
It also alleges that the players denied interacting with the locals and the management gave preferences to British media than the local media.
But Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has denied the claims. He said, "I should say I don't agree and also that it's false," Guardiola told reporters at a press conference in Hong Kong. "To make a statement like this they have to know exactly what happened here in our club."
"We had an incredible time in Shanghai. We were committed to the cooperation you have to do here in China. The people from the hotel, all the people were asking us to do things and we were ready to do that.
The Premier League champions lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties in the Premier League Asia final.
"To come to Asia and experience the culture, the restaurants -- it's amazing to get to know other people. That's why I can't understand what people are saying. Maybe one journalist is a bit upset, I don't know why -- but it's far away from the reality."

The Spanish tactician brought their travel schedule in the notice, stating that the travel time has added fatigue to the squad.
"We don't sleep too well during the nights but, even so, we make good training sessions for all the guys," Guardiola continued.
