The midfielder has been linked with a move away from the club all through the summer.

Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba was subject to racist comments by Manchester United fans after he missed a spot-kick against Wolves last night.

Pogba became the latest player-facing racism online from the fans who went repugnant after the 27-year old missed a golden opportunity to earn Ole Solskjaer all three points from the game, which eventually ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

It was Anthony Martial who broke the deadlock for the Red Devils which was later cancelled out by Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves. The former FC Porto man scored a world-class long ranger to beat David De Gea between the sticks.

But the Red Devils had the chance to put the game to bed when Paul Pogba stepped up to take the spot-kick. Moments later it was Rui Patricio who came out on top with an excellent save to deny Manchester United all three points.

The decision of Pogba stepping up to take the spot-kick has been questioned by many fans throughout the world but some of them took the criticism way too ahead in social media.

Racism has seen an alarming increase in football fields as this has happened third time in a space of weeks. Recently Reading striker Yakou Meite also faced the heat of the fans after he missed a 91st-minute penalty in their EFL Championship match against Cardiff. Similarly, Chelsea's Tammy Abraham was also subject to vile comments after the English youngster failed to convert from the spot in the UEFA Super Cup penalty shootout which eventually crowned Liverpool the champions.

Frank Lampard strictly condemned the act of fans on his young forward as the Blues came out with a statement giving a fitting reply to the repugnant comments.

Manchester United have also spoken out about the incident regarding their player through a statement: "Everyone at Manchester United is disgusted by the racial abuse aimed at Paul Pogba last night and we utterly condemn it.

"The individuals who expressed these views do not represent the values of our great club and it is encouraging to see the vast majority of our fans condemn this on social media also."Manchester United has zero-tolerance of any form of racism or discrimination and a long-standing commitment to campaigning against it through our #AllRedAllEqual initiative.

"We will work to identify the few involved in these incidents and take the strongest course of action available to us. We also encourage social media companies to take action in these cases."
