The final fixture of round 8 of the Mizoram Premier League saw Mizoram Police FC produce a stunning comeback against Aizawl FC at Thuamluaia Mual.

Mizoram Police FC have been in good form lately under new coach Lalbiaksanga Colney with two wins in two games. But they saw themselves two goals down early in the second half but were able to earn a point with late goals from Lalbiakhlua and F. Zosangliana.

Aizawl FC gave MPL debuts to Romanian midfielder Andrei Ionescu and Afghan defender Masih Saighani and threatened first when Rochharzela forced Mizoram Police FC goalkeeper Tanpuia into making a save.

Lalrinpuia proved a bright spark for MPFC, missing two chances while Zosangliana also tested Avilash Paul. The Aizawl FC custodian Paul had to be later replaced by Lalawmpuia due to injury.

The I-League champions broke the deadlock three minutes before halftime as William Lalnunfela capitalised from an error by goalkeeper Tanpuia.

They doubled their lead early on in the second half when midfielder Andrei Ionescu marked his debut with a goal in the 56th minute.

But Mizoram Police FC showed their grit and team spirit and grabbed a goal back in the 78th minute when Lalbiakhlua finished off a good ball from Lalsangbera.

Zosangliana then finally restored parity in the 89th minute when he headed in a fine delivery from F. Lalrinpuia.

Aizawl FC had a chance to add a late twist in the match but Albert Zohmingmawia could only hit the post after Andrei Ionescu put him through.

Experienced forward F. Lalrinpuia was named man of the match.

Former MPL champions Dinthar FC grabbed all three points against Chanmari West FC in round 8 of the Mizoram Premier League and find themselves out of the bottom of the table.

Liberian striker Jackson Victor Ogheneochuko scored the all important goal late on to give his side only their second victory of the season.

Dinthar FC threatened first with a freekick from Lalbiakhlua forcing Chanmari West FC goalkeeper Hriata to produce a wonderful save.

The West Warriors themselves had a series of chances but Lalthlamuana, Lalremruata and Jacob Lalrawngbawla all missed their opportunities.

An even first half ended goalless and it was much of the same story in the second half as both teams tried in vain to break the deadlock.

Vanlalduata could not make the best of his opening for Chanmari West FC while Jackson pulled an effort wide after a clearance from Chanmari West FC custodian Hriata came his way.

Dinthar FC finally got their goal in the 87th minute after Liberian striker Jackson Victor found the net from a corner delivered by Ramliana.

Chanmari West FC had a late chance to save a point but man of the match Dinthar FC goalkeeper Malsawmdawngzela produced a fine save to deny Lalthlamuana the chance to be a hero.
