It was a sad exit for Esteqal as the Afghan boys, who had displayed excellent coordination and neat footwork, were on the day impeded by an alert Bangla defense who seemed to have done their homework really well. The normally able Esteqal strikers were rendered toothless even as BKSP frontline continued its forays into the rival citadel. But every time they tried hard, BKSP were thwarted by the Afghan custodian Mohammad Sharif, who did a fine job under the bar. Equally efficient was Saiful Islam who kept a hawk-like vigil at the Bangla goal.

Yet, it was Saiful who changed the course in favour of the Bangla team stopping the Afghani progress. Usaf Ali Jiban, Tohidal Islam, Mohammad Habibur and Abdul Kader converted from the spot while for the Kabul side only Mohmmad Amin and Muhammad Harano managed to score.
