49 Goals scored in 8 matches of U17 Girls category at Subroto Cup 2016
Hazaribagh, BKSP girls prove superiority again ..
Prity Jamatia’s lone goal in the 14th minute was good enough to see Tripura through as the girls from Afghanistan went 0-1 down in their pool match in the ongoing Junior Girls (under-17) matches in the 57th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium here today.
Unlike the boys’ team that had come from Kabul, the girls found them totally out of depth as the North-eastern girls proved sturdy and equally adept to conditions. On a humid evening, the Tripura girls went about clinically and earned full points in what was a boring match.
But in contrast, the Bangladesh Krida Shiksha Protishtan, (BKSP) scored their successive win when they beat DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8C, from Chandigarh 4-1, making their intention clear. After a convincing victory over Pravara Kanya Vidya Mandir from Ahmednagar yesterday, the BKSP girls found another easy meat in the Chandigarh side.

But what was interesting was that it was the DAV girls who opened the account in the match with a goal in the sixth minute when Anju, going past two defenders, fired in. As if on cue, the BKSP soon launched the attack making the rivals sweat as in a span of two minutes Ritu and Akhe provided the lead to the Bangladesh side during the first session.
After slowing down the game, the teams went into break. On return, too, no worthy moves were made as teams dug in to spend time. And all this changed suddenly when Rehena found the target in the 41st minute with a counterattack and eight minutes later Saieda complete the rout with a neat placing on the right.
SAI, HAZARIBAGH ON TRACKS
Hazaribagh High School, Jharkhand, continued their winning ways and convincingly with a 13-0 scorecard against Atul Vidyalaya from Gujarat during a morning match at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium. The match featured two hat-tricks when their main strikers Mamita Kri (7th, 9th, 20th, 40th & 43rd minutes) and Sunita Munda (31st, 35th, 40th & 56th) decided to share the limelight. They were joined by Singi Kachaap, who scored a brace, Dular Marandi and Laxmi Kumari made useful contributions.
SAI East NSEC, Salt Lake City (Kolkata) scored a 4-0 triumph over Delhi’s R S Kanya Vidyalaya (East Vinod Nagar) at the NWC grounds. The Kolkata girls simply went through the motion soon after Soni Behera put them ahead in the fifth minute. Fifteen minutes later Susmita Dalei struck, making most of an open goal as the teams took a breather.
No sooner than they began the second session, Suman Mohapatra hit the target in the 35th minute and Sasmita Maharana, three minutes later, added to the team’s tally for the second victory.
But after their 1-7 loss yesterday to the Chandigarh team, Telangana State Sports School (Hakimpet) played out a quiet goalless draw against the Ahmednagar girls to split points. Pravara Kanya Vidya Mandir and the Telangana girls tried hard to score against but their efforts fell short of expectations.
In another heavy-scoring match the girls from neighbouring Haryana humiliated Air Force Bal Bharti School (Delhi) for a 20-0 verdict. Nisha scored as many as 11 goals, including a hat-trick in the latter part, to stamp their authority over the weak Delhi side.
Later in the evening, Meghalaya schoolgirls defeated IPSC 4-0 in a one-sided affair when N. Majaw struck twice in the first half and then added one more to her tally even as A. Majaw scored in the 47th minute with no reply coming from their opponents.
Mizoram girls scored a 1-1 draw over Chhattisgarh girls as Gladys fired in the 33rd minute for Mizoram and the lone goal from Chhattisgarh came from Kritika in the 3rd minute.
