Meghalaya , Haryana , SAI East , Bangladesh qualified for U-17 Girls Category of Subroto Cup 2016

Bangladesh Krida Shiksha Protishtan (BKSP), keeping an all-win record, entered the Under-17 Junior Girls quarterfinals when they defeated Telangana Sports School from Hakimpet 2-0 at the NWC grounds here today..


The other teams that joined Bangladesh team in the quarter-finals include Sai East NSEC, Salt Lake City from Kolkata, Umthli Sr. Sec. School, Meghalaya and Haryana.

The quarter-finals will be played on 5th October in Dr. Ambedkar Stadium.

The normally heavy scoring BKSP were somewhat hampered by the efficient Telangana girls but they could not stop the Bangladesh team from marching ahead.

The entire action in the match got over within the first 10 minutes as Sabina made an easy foray into the rival box to score in the seventh minute. In the next three minutes, Akhi added to the tally to sit pretty when they went for the break. But on return, though the Bangladesh squad made good efforts, the Telangana girls proved better defenders as they kept them out of any further damage. In the process, however, the Hakimpet team forgot to make even a single worthwhile attempt at their opponents’ goal.

Chandigarh thrashed Maharashtra 7-0 in U17 Category of Subroto Cup 2016.


The DAV Senior Secondary School from Sector 8C, Chandigarh, found the punching back in Pravara Kanya Vidya Mandir (Ahmednagar) to handout a 7-0 verdict. Playing without a clue, the Maharshtra side could not stop the Chandigarh girls from advancing and netting in goal after goal, the process of which started by Anju in the 12th minute. In fact, Anju and Mamta scored three times each even as Varsha joined them in celebration with a goal in the 17th minute.

The Hazaribagh High School girls from Jharkhand found their match in SAI East NSEC, Salt Lake and they preferred to split points after the match ended in 1-1 draw.

Singi Kachaap made the initial goal-bearing move in the 24th minute to put Jharkhand in the driver’s seat. But six minutes later, Sony Behera struck the equalizer. After some interesting action in the first half, the second half was docile and no team was really willing to strike hard for a result.

Prerna Negi scored brace in Delhi 3-0 win over Gujarat ..


For a change, the RSKV from East Vinod Nagar (Delhi) scored a 3-0 win when they found the Atul Vidyalaya from Valsad (Gujarat) the best bet for them to earn full points. After leading 2-0 in the first half through
Prerna Negi and Navitha, the Delhi girls returned with determination in the second session to seal the fate of the Gujarat girls with another strike, Prerna adding to her tally.

Meghalaya schoolgirls defeated their North-eastern rivals from Tripura 4-0 while the team from Afghanistan drew goalless with IPSC in the two afternoon matches played at NWC grounds.

For the Meghalaya team I. Khongwet scored a brace while contributions from A. Skhemiew and I. Wahlang came in the nick of time for the convincing victory.

Nisha scored 5 goals in Haryana 7-0 Victory over Chhattisgarh.


At the Ambedkar Stadium, Haryana girls defeated Chhattisgarh 7-0 while Mizoram accounted for local outfit Air Force Bal Bharti School 11-0. Both matches were one-sided as the results indicate but one would have expected the lesser teams to do some retrospection.

Vanlal lawmawmi was yet again the prolific scorer for the Mizo side with three strikes even as healthy involvement of her four teammates was visible with C. Vanlalrinawmi scoring three and Lalainmawii scoring a brace for the next big contribution.

The Haryana girls began their goal-scoring spree in the eighth minute with Nisha scoring. Soon after she completed a hat-trick with strikes in the 19th and 22nd minutes and did not stop at that. Nisha, the centre forward of Haryana, added two more goals for a fiver in the match. Later Smiksha scored two, the first of her goal coming in the 39th minute and the last in the 59th.
