Several hot prospects from Europe are in the fray for big money moves.
It’s been a month since the domestic season came to a conclusion and the clubs have already begun with their transfer business for the next season. A lot of rather big names in the European football appeared in the headlines as some big money moves successfully took place.
Eden Hazard’s dream finally came true as he put pen to paper completing an £88 million move to Real Madrid while Bayern Munich brought in Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £80 million in a bid to bolster their defence.
Let’s have a look at the recent transfer talk in the market and the deals that could take place soon-
AC Milan show interest in Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren
Champions League winner Lovren, who saw himself fall down the pecking order at Liverpool with the likes of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez often chosen ahead of him to partner Virgil van Dijk, is understood to be leaving the club this summer.
Milan have emerged as one of the best suitors for the Croatian however an official statement awaits.
Manchester clubs fight for the signature of Harry Maguire
After a commendable performance in the Premier League in the past couple of seasons for Leicester City, Harry Maguire acquired the attention of several top-flight clubs. Manchester United, who are in dire need of a commanding centre half, naturally became one of the interested clubs for the 26-year-old.
However, it appears that the Red Devils will face stiff competition from their arch-rivals Manchester City who too are keeping close tabs on the Englishman.
Griezmann on the brink of Atletico exit?
In what could be one of the biggest transfers this summer, Antoine Griezmann might be finally on his way out from Atletico Madrid after a couple of seasons of constant rumours. Barcelona are believed to be most likely the next destination for the Frenchman however there has been no official contact yet.
“I want my future to be decided more than anyone, but there's a need to wait. I don't know if I'll remain in Spain. Maybe in two weeks we'll know something,”said the 28 year-old.
Does Zidane prefer Pogba over Eriksen?
Real Madrid are in for a major squad overhaul this season having already brought in the likes of Eder Militao from FC Porto, Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt and Eden Hazard from Chelsea. According to the Mirror, the Los Blancos are all set to land Paul Pogba as their next signing as the Frenchman is one of the top targets of manager Zinedine Zidane.
Florentino Perez, however, was of the view that Christian Eriksen would be a better and cheaper pick but reportedly agreed later, on signing the Manchester United stalwart.
Bayern Munich in pursuit for Yannick Carrasco
German champions Bayern have identified former Atletico star Yannick Carrasco as a potential alternative for Leroy Sane, according to Metro. Carrasco, who is currently plying his trade with Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang, has also been tracked by Arsenal of late, with manager Unai Emery understood to have impressed by the Belgian.
Leverkusen star Leon Bailey on Chelsea radar
After losing their talisman Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, Chelsea are all set to find a replacement for the Belgian. Moreover, the Blues might have already found a candidate in Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
The 21-year-old hasn’t been in top form of late but certainly has the potential to be a threat to defenders considering his good pace with the ball. The only problem Chelsea now face is the transfer ban they are undergoing and if they happen to lose their appeal to the Court of Arbitration (CAS), they will have to wait until the next summer to make any signings.
Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini close to signing for Spurs?
According to Calciomercato, Lorenzo Pellegrini’s agent is in London to negotiate his client’s move to Tottenham this summer. 22 year-old Pellegrini is reportedly keen to come to the Premier League after having an impressive stint with the Serie A outfit since 2017.
Moreover, Inter Milan too are reportedly interested in signing the midfielder but haven’t made any official contact with his club yet.
PSG place a huge bid for Matthijs De Ligt
According to the Daily Mirror, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have offered De Ligt a thumping wage package of £250,000-a-week. The Ajax centre back is one of the hottest prospects this summer with Barcelona and Manchester United also interested in his signature.
The Dutch teenager is most likely to move out from Amsterdam however his next destination is yet to be confirmed.
