Transfers XI for 2019-20 Summer Window
Out of the best high-profile signings in the summer, four of them happened in Spain.
The European transfer window slammed shut on 2nd September and we experienced one of the best windows of all time. Although there were a few signings that seemed very much like ones that would be common on FIFA's Career mode.
This summer has been nothing less than we have come to expect in terms of blockbuster transfers, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United spending big on players to strengthen their squads.
We at Khel Now have compiled an XI of players who were signed by clubs this summer.
GK - Keylor Navas
The Costa Rican shot-stopper was excellent during his time at Real and won three Champions Leagues with the Galacticos. The criminally underrated Navas completed his move to the French capital on deadline day, with Alphonse Areola going the other way.
Navas will be an interesting addition to Tuchel's side, who have struggled in the goalkeeping department in recent years. Navas, a top-quality keeper will go some way to solving these issues. He takes his place in goal in our XI.
RB - Joao Cancelo
Manchester City capitalised on Juventus’ “Win Now” policy, where they were focused on bringing in players with experience that would help them win titles in the near future. Cancelo signed for the Cityzens in a deal worth £60m and takes his place at right-back in our back four, ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
CB - Matthijs De Ligt
The Dutchman is widely regarded as one of the world's most frightening prospects, with his presence of mind and strength at such a young age. The 19-year old, who was the youngest captain of Ajax, flirted with most of Europe’s top clubs, finally deciding on Juventus who will be thrilled at the prospect of a player with such potential donning their colours.
CB - Harry Maguire
At £80m, it is easy to label Maguire as overpriced, which he probably is. However, his arrival at Manchester United along with Wan Bissaka, has leveled up a defence that has needed upgrading for several years now.
His leadership skills, ability on the ball and ariel prowess make him a very important part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side. The towering Englishman takes his place at the heart of defence in our side.
LB - Lucas Hernandez
The 23-year-old left-back, impressed at the World Cup for France, before doing the same in the League for Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman is part of a massive overhaul that is happening at Bayern Munich at the moment and which will probably go on for the window as well.
His versatility and awareness on the ball are sure to make him a hit in the German top flight. He occupies the left-back spot in our back four.
What a crazy transfer window it was
CM - Frenkie De Jong
Just like De Ligt, De Jong was marketed around Europe by his agent before eventually signing for Barcelona. The midfielder is tipped to be one of the next big things in football and will excite Barcelona fans with his passing, intelligence and deftness of touch. He takes his place in our three man midfield.
CM - Tanguy Ndombele
Tottenham delved into the transfer market for the first time in two windows to break their transfer record with the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon for a reported £62m. The midfielder scored on debut, reaffirming the faith that the club had placed in him.
CAM - Joao Felix
“The best since Ronaldo”. That's what the Portuguese media have been saying about Atletico Madrid’s new €126m signing from Benfica. The 19-year old has hit the ground running in pre season and will hope to replace the considerable void left by Antoine Griezmann in the Atletico Madrid front line.
LW - Eden Hazard
After seven highly successful seasons at Chelsea, the Belgian forward decided to finally make his dream of moving to Real Madrid a reality. Hazard will miss the first few weeks of the season due to injury but will no doubt be a success at Madrid where he will hope to take his game to the next level.
RW - Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal signed the Ivorian for a club record £80m to add to their already formidable front line. Pepe had a goal involvement rate that was only second to Lionel Messi with 51 goals and assists in all competitions last season.
However, it remains to be seen how he adapts to the far tougher Premier League. Pepe will be attacking from the right side of the front three in our side.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]ST - Antoine Griezmann
The French attacker finally made his long-touted move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid this season to join Barca's ranks of spectacular attackers. He will be hoping to combine with the likes of Messi, De Jong and Suarez to form a base for the Catalan side for years to come. Griezmann rounds off our XI of the top transfers this summer.
