It was very special- Jurgen Klopp on winning the UEFA Champions League

The Reds are scheduled to play seven matches in 20 days in their pre-season.

The UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool FC are back for their pre-season and the players and the coach Jurgen Klopp are still ecstatic even after more than five weeks since their UCL triumph. The aura around the Anfield is electric as Jurgen insists that they are moving on from the win and looking forward for the games.

“Of course we move on,” Klopp told the club’s website. “It’s not that wherever we go it’s like, ‘Morning, we won the Champions League!’ But why should we forget it?"

Jurgen continued, "It’s just something that should give the boys more confidence – that’s important. But if you only use confidence you have no chance, but nobody should worry about this team."

Liverpool lifted their sixth UCL title ever, making them the third most successful club in the European competition. For Jurgen, on the other hand, it was third time lucky in the Champions League, having lost in the final one time each with Borussia Dortmund(2013) and Liverpool FC(2018).

“It’s not about being finally satisfied, happy or done with our careers because we won the Champions League, there is so much to go for,” the coach said.

“We smelled how it feels – we played the final, we won the final, we came into the city, we saw the city and saw the people. That’s something you can get addicted to, you want to have that much more often"

“It was very special, so you cannot forget it. It was very special. It’s something for the future when you look back on a career and nobody can take that away from you. But while you are in your career, as we all are, you have to use it as the next basis and to start new for the season because it’s a completely different season.”

The Reds will play seven games in 20 days, ending their pre-season on 31st July. They will play the first game against Tranmere Rovers on 11th July.

The Copa America winners Alisson Becker and Roberto Firmino are yet to join the team.
