This is the first time the Lilywhites have reached the semi-finals of this elite European competition.
Former Tottenham Hotspurs manager Harry Redknapp believes that his former club can win the UEFA Champions League this year. The club qualified for their first ever Champions League semifinals after defeating Premier League rivals Manchester City through the away goal rule.
The two Premier League clubs were tied at 4-4 after the end of the 180 minutes of play and Spurs went through for scoring three away goals against none of City.
Spurs now face Ajax, who are on a dream run of their own, reaching the semi-finals after beating the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals respectively.
Harry Redknapp believes it is hard to predict who will go through but give the Spurs the chance after having gotten so far.
He said, "Yes I do. I saw the qualifying [group] games, and you thought they weren't going to get out the group stage. They lost the first couple and they were struggling."
"But suddenly things fell their way - the late goal in Barcelona - and now they've got a great chance. It's wide open and it's difficult to pick a winner, but Spurs have got like a big a chance as anybody."
Redknapp believes that the key for Spurs would be not allowing the Dutch side to score an away goal. He suggests Tottenham hold on to whatever they can from the home leg and look to settle the tie away at Amsterdam.

This comes to as no surprise after Ajax having beaten both Juventus and Real Madrid at their own stadiums.
He opined, "I think you'd take 1-0. No away goal for Ajax and then you can go back there knowing a draw would do Tottenham.
"You always take a clean sheet as a starting point. I think they'll start on the front foot, Tottenham, get after Ajax tonight and really put this young team to the test."
Ajax, with the young talents that it has in the likes of Davis Neres, Frankie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt and others, has impressed everyone. Ajax's dream run looks to Redknapp as the rebirth of the conveyor belt of tremendous talents that Dutch football has.

"To be honest, it's great to see Dutch football coming out the doldrums and producing great young players. A few years ago there was a conveyor belt of tremendous stars coming from Holland.
