Raheem Sterling reveals Jadon Sancho begged him to score his first goal
The City winger provided three assists on the night, two of which were slotted home by Sancho.
England winger Raheem Sterling quipped about Jadon Sancho being in his room late at night requesting him to lay one goal for him.
Sterling assisted thrice and scored the equaliser for England, and Sancho scored his first two goals for England in an entertaining 5-3 win against a competitive Kosovo side at the St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton.
Speaking to reporters post-match, Sterling expressed his delight on seeing his Dortmund counterpart's performance and revealed the 19-year old's plea to the Manchester City winger to assist a goal for him when need be.
"He was in my room at 10.30pm last night begging me to square one for him. So, I was really happy to see him score his first one. He's a good kid," said Sterling to Sky.
The increase in the creative synergy of the England attack due to the addition of Sancho has pleased coach Gareth Southgate who lauded the performance of the front three he employed in attack.
He was profuse with praise saying, "Our attacking play, Raheem (Sterling), Jadon (Sancho) and Harry (Kane) were outstanding. I mean Raheem's two performances have been of the highest level."
It was a dream come true for young Sancho as he bagged his first international goals, a feat the winger himself was ecstatic about.
"I'm really happy to score my first England goals, especially finishing it off with a win," said Sancho, dedicating his goals to his family and his grandmother who recently passed away.
"It was a special goal for me and my family and I dedicated my goal to my nan who recently passed away," were the words of a commemorative and poignant Sancho.
Not only his goals but he also mentioned his happiness at playing with high-calibre teammates, especially Kane and Sterling of whom he made high praise of saying, "It's very good, we get a lot of the ball."

Sancho will look to continue his rollicking start to the season when he returns to Dortmund against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga before commencing their Champions League adventure against perennial challengers FC Barcelona.
