Mohun Bagan's boss was confident his side can continue their good run...
The Mariners have a perfect record after four rounds of the I-League, winning every game so far. One of the main title contenders, Bagan have already scored nine goals, conceding only once.
Head Coach Sanjoy Sen met the press ahead of his side's game against DSK Shivajians in Pune. He said, speaking of his opponents, "They are a team with some good experienced players, along with some exciting young Indian players. They are a very good team. Not only in attack but in defence too."
Mohun Bagan play their second away game in a row, after a hard fought victory against Chennai City. Sen opined, "When you play away matches, it is never easy. When we played Chennai, it was not easy. Every match will be tough and we'll have to really fight hard."
Going into the fifth round of action, it is the two clubs from the mega footballing city of Kolkata who occupy first and second. Both Kolkata sides remain main title contenders. "When you're with East Bengal or Mohun Bagan, pressure is always there. To win the championship, you have to win as many matches as possible, home or away doesn't matter. We should try to gain maximum points tomorrow. I have never played for the draw."
The 56-year old is also aware of his side's standings, and the focus solely remains internal. "We are only interested in us. There'll be ups and downs (elsewhere). We have to keep focus on us."
He continued, "Result wise, yes, we have been consistent. But we are still constantly improving everyday, definetely. Mistakes will be there, but how you rectify them is the most important to us."
Accompanying him was one of the nation's star names, both for club and country, Jeje Lalpekhlua. The 26-year old was wary of his opponents, knowing that no game will be easy. "Everyone wants to win the trophy, especially at home DSK, will be good. They have good recruits and they're at home, so it will be tough."
The Mizoram striker started off his senior career at Pune FC, the first club from Pune to play in the competition, "I'm always happy to play in this stadium. I started my career here with Pune FC, so I like it here. Hopefully we'll play well and get the win," commented Jeje.
"If we play like we have in the last few games, we can definetely win," the 26-year old signed off.
