Delhi Dynamos FC head coach Gianluca Zambrotta wants his players to head into the second leg of their semi-final against Kerala Blasters FC with a positive attitude. The Dynamos lost the first leg in Kochi through a brilliant Kervens Belfort strike, and are going into Wednesday’s match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi under the pump.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Zambrotta said his players understand the importance of the match. “I know exactly that this is our last match at home, and tomorrow will be a very open match and a very difficult match. Kerala is a very strong team, and the only thing I have told my players is that they must have a positive attitude in order to have a good game tomorrow.”
Commenting on Delhi’s defeat in Kochi on Sunday, the Italian World Cup winner said: “I analysed the last match and we have to get better regarding the way we play [tomorrow] and keeping possession of the ball [is important].”
Zambrotta also dismissed a suggestion if he was planning to make some major changes for tomorrow’s game. “I don’t have any specific change for tomorrow and I have not yet told the players regarding the starting eleven, and I will not give any more information now,” the 39-year-old said.
When asked if he was targeting any particular player from the Kerala ranks, Zambrotta said: “I think it is not just any specific player. Kerala have a very good team and it is not about a specific player. They have Belfort, [Duckens] Nazon but we have got to focus on the whole team as they are good.”
