Atletico De Kolkata lost 4-3 to Club Atletico de Pinto in their first preseason friendly in Madrid yesterday. ATK did not start off well in the first half but slowly took charge of the match after the break. The Red and White brigade conceded two early goals through a brace from Manu Sanchez(18',19'). Although the club from Kolkata did not concede any more goals in the first half, the home side dominated possession as they went imnto the interval with a two-goal lead. In the second half it was a completely different affair as ATK manager Jose Molina made a lot of changes bringing on Javi Lara and Sameehg Doutie on the flanks and that helped the forwards to get better supply.Highlights: Atlético de Pinto 4-3 Atlético de Kolkata
The Bengal Tigers had control over the match for the first 15 minutes in the second half but against the run of play they conceded one more goal through a stunner from Nico Ybarra(55').
The Sourav Ganguly co-owned side reduced the deficit by a goal from Lara (66'). The Spanish side restored their cushion making it 4-1. Dani Ramos(79') scored a header to seal the deal for Pinto.
ATK did not give up and kept on building pressure on the opponents’ defense with frequent attacks from Lara, Iain Hume and Doutie. Molina introduced Juan Belencoso and he turned out to be a super-sub for the Red and White army as he scored in the 82nd minute while Doutie scored the final goal at the end of regulation time to reduce the deficit as the match ended 4-3 in favour of the Spanish side.
