The Spaniard joins compatriot Albert Roca's backroom staff at the Indian champions........
Bengaluru FC have appointed Spaniard Carles Cuadrat as the team’s new Assistant Head Coach. The Spaniard has worked with various age group teams at Catalan giants Barcelona and was part Frank Rijkard’s coaching staff at Galatasaray and Saudi Arabia. He was also assistant to new Blues Head Coach Albert Roca at El Salavador. Roca has just succeeded Ashley Westwood at the I-League champions on a two-year deal. Carles Cuadrat was 2nd coach and Physical Trainer of U-15, U-16 and U-17 FC BARCELONA Youth Academy teams . Cuadrat began his career as a player joining Barcelona’s academy at the age of 10 and spent a decade with the club. In this time he represented the Spanish national team on 14 occasions at U – 16, 17 and 18 levels; including a 3rd Place finish at the 1985 European Youth Championships held in Hungary. He spent the majority of his senior career playing in Spain’s second tier with S.E. Sabadell and C.F. Gava. His first major coaching stint came in 1998 when he was recruited by the Blaugrana and spent 11 years with the club as a Coach and physical trainer for the U-14, 16 and 17 teams. Cuadrat’s arrival at BFC signals a clear intention from the club hierarchy to develop a distinct Spanish ethos at the club with a continued focus on youth development.
