The Englishman scored a brace in the Red Devils’ League Cup win against utter-rivals Chelsea.

Manchester United registered a convincing 2-1 victory against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in the Carabao Cup at the Stamford Bridge. Marcus Rashford scored a brace for the visitors including a magnificent free-kick while Michy Batshuayi scored for the home side. With the win Manchester United progress into the quarter final stage of the League Cup.

The Man of the Match, Marcus Rashford spoke to Sky Sports after the game. “I don’t think we’re even half-way playing to what we can and to the potential of this team.” he said.

He further elaborated his case by saying, “The only way to get to that 100% of what we can do is to keep putting the work in, keep listening to the manager and the coaching staff and to keep believing. That’s what we’ve done today, and you can see the result.”

Manchester United registered their back to back away wins since March in the last campaign. The United #10 spoke on the importance of registering back to back wins as he went on and said, “If you get a couple of wins back-to-back early on in the season it can change the direction the season is going.”

“Because mentally, for a team like Man United, when you’re winning back-to-back games, the team’s confidence levels go up. So, if we can keep doing this and keep it up in the league, we take it game by game and go back up the table,” said Rashford according to a report from manutd.com.

The English forward also went on to speak about his magnificent 35 yard free kick against Willy Caballero, registering his 52nd goal in the process. “It’s always worth a shot, because if you get it up and over the wall, it’s got a chance. It’s difficult for the keeper. So, you just get the team to follow it because maybe the keeper doesn’t hold on to it. I just see it as an opportunity to score a goal and you do your best.” he concluded.

While United prepare for another away game at Bournemouth, Marcus Rashford celebrates his 22nd birthday and is certainly a man to look out for in the clash at the weekend.
