Madhya Bharat and Celtic FC signed a six-year partnership to develop young players through coaching and academic facilities. . .

Opening new avenues in central India, Madhya Bharat Sports Club have come with a brilliant initiative to involve sporting and non-sporting students throughout the country. By signing a six-year deal, Madhya Bharat has joined in Celtic Soccer Academy’s International Partnership Programme and will look to develop young players through world-class coaching and academic programmes.

Madhya Bharat is offering a unique combination of sport and study across residential and day boarding player development centres in the area, and have announced their trials to tap into the best footballing talent available in the country. All the trials are happening in May and the dates (with location) are mentioned below:

The links to registering to the other venues will be soon available on the Madhya Bharat website. The Academy peers will be closely monitored and the selected ones will be sent to the Celtic Training Academy in Scotland in a Student Exchange Programme, an opportunity various kids would love to give a shot. 

Interestingly, Minerva Punjab’s Head of Youth Development Jose Carlos Hevia has been appointed as the Technical Director of the Academy. Hevia is known for his commendable work in Minerva’s development as a breeding club for youngsters which has overseen about two dozen players in various age groups being picked for the National Team. Hevia was working with ISL side Pune City FC before his stint with Minerva.

Recently, Celtic and Madhya Bharat Sports Club had signed a six-year agreement which will see Indian football reach new avenues. Madhya Bharat SC’s founder and chief executive officer, Rishish Dubey, said: “We are very pleased to join hands with Celtic FC, one of the best clubs in the world. We visited the academy and were very impressed with Celtic FC’s youth program. The values of the club are a major reason we have partnered with them.”

The registrations for the trials are already started on the Madhya Bharat Sports Club official website (click here to visit the website). Club officials have also informed Khel Now that on-spot registration may also be entertained. The club will be offering scholarships based on merit. The program looks definitive in terms of values and will look to create the next generation of footballers with strong life skills and education. The club believes in a long-term vision and will look to work wonders in the Indian footballing diaspora.

In recent years, European heavyweights like Manchester United FC, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Sheffield United have partnered with Indian academies to implement football schools and work in football development.
