The 22-year-old raised his voice against racism revealing the Three Lions plans if any such incident occurs in their upcoming away fixtures.
As the football world comes together to fight against the heinous act of racism that has been practised for years now in Europe, instances of players being racially abused keep on coming. Be it Patrice Evra, Raheem Sterling or a mere youngster like Tammy Abraham, lots of renowned players have faced racist comments both on and off the pitch.
In a latest, England forward Tammy Abraham has revealed that the Three Lions’ are ready to ‘walk-off the pitch’ if any of their players is racially abused during their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying fixtures against Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]The move comes months after some of the players from the team had faced discrimination during a 5-1 rout of Montenegro in Podgorica.
“We’ve touched base on how to deal with the situation. Harry Kane even said that if it happens and we’re not happy with it, we speak to the player and if he’s not happy, we all come off the pitch together,” said Abraham to Football365.
“We’ve had meetings, several meetings about it since we’ve arrived yesterday,” he went on to add.
The Chelsea striker was himself a victim once, during the Blues’ UEFA Super Cup loss against Liverpool in Istanbul. The all-English final between the two sides ended 2-2 at full time leading to a penalty shootout. Abraham had missed from the spot and what followed was a series of discriminatory comments that he faced on social media.
“I think I dealt with it in the best way possible,” he said, “I just stayed away from Twitter and all social media, I just spent time with my team-mates and my family. Everyone saw it, everyone was aware of what was happening.”
England boss Gareth Southgate, on the other hand, suggested that the team would follow the three-step protocol proposed by UEFA if any such incident occurs.
However, Abraham was having none of it. “One time, twice, three times – it gives silly people excuses.”

“It’s a team thing. Don’t isolate one person, we’re a whole team. If it happens to one of us, it happens to all of us,” said the 22 year-old in a fierce tone while concluding.
The Three Lions have won all of their group stage fixtures so far and with the upcoming fixtures, they aim to maintain the unbeaten streak.
