The Reds are currently leading the Premier League table with 67 points.

Manchester United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned the league leaders Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp about possible negligence of the FA Cup by admitting that they still have regrets about their decision to snub the tournament back in 2000 for the World Club Championship. The issue has resurfaced after Liverpool’s gaffer Jurgen Klopp said he would not put his first team in the FA Cup fourth-round replay against Shrewsbury. Liverpool played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in their previous encounter with the League One side on Sunday after giving away a two-goal advantage. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] United had won the treble in 1999 under Sir Alex Ferguson and decided not to defend their FA Cup title next year. They became the first holders not to defend the trophy and it was met with uproar in England. “I think we all regret maybe not going for it in 2000 when we went to the World Club Championship tournament in Brazil and it's never nice to not be participating,” Solskajer said to Daily Mail. “I loved the FA Cup and played in the semi-final and the final. When you've got a big squad it's a challenge to win all the three and we did. It's always going to be down in history as the greatest season an English club has done.” Liverpool have to play their next FA Cup game against Shrewsbury in between the new Premier League mid-season break and Klopp is frustrated with the current schedule. Solskjaer also agreed with the Reds manager and remarked that the mid-season break should support the English clubs. It's up to Jurgen[Klopp] and Liverpool to make decisions, we're just happy not to get a replay ourselves. It was playing on our mind and three days less holiday.” Kloop had made nine changes to his starting 11 in the previous game and said he would not be present at the replay as under-23 coach Neil Critchley will be in charge. It will be the second time Critchley has taken charge of the Liverpool first team this season. He was present in the dug-out for the Carabao Cup quarter-final loss to Aston Villa in December as Klopp was in Qatar with his first team to play in FIFA Club World Cup.
