Eden Hazard will be the pivot in this game week with the crucial game against Manchester United.

Manchester City drew against Liverpool in a dull affair. The game of the week turned out to be a goalless draw with a missed penalty being the only real talking point. Old Trafford saw glimpses of their past when Manchester United overcame a 2-0 deficit by scoring three goals in the second half. Mata, Martial and Sanchez scored to provide temporary relief to the Old Trafford faithful. Chelsea and Arsenal registered dominating wins over Southampton and Fulham respectively while Tottenham managed to eke out a victory against Cardiff.

Gameweek 8 Review

Gameweek 8 was full of surprises. Captain Callum Wilson got 28 points for the week, scoring and one goal and providing two assists in Bournemouth’s comprehensive victory over Watford. Top strikers Mitrovic and Aguero only came away with a combined total of three points. Richarlison, scored for Everton against Leicester while Steve Cook and Marcos Alonso kept clean sheets in their matches against Watford and Southampton respectively. The three players combined to provide 19 points.  The rest of the team, including Salah and De Gea only managed 13 points. The bench however had Mathew Ryan with 9 points owing to his brilliant performance against West Ham. Andrew Robertson also had 6 points. An above average Gameweek, with a few players performing well beyond expectations.

This is how your team should look

Gameweek 9 Transfers

Two transfers are available for Gameweek 9. Mohamed Salah is doubtful for Liverpool’s clash against Huddersfield. The Egyptian can be replaced by high-flying Eden Hazard or rapidly improving Raheem Sterling. Both the players have made significant strides in terms of FPL points despite starting late.

James Tarkowski might not feature in Burnley’s next match against Manchester City. He can be replaced by Matt Doherty or Willy Boly from Wolverhampton. Both of the defenders are cheaper than Tarkowski.

I have chosen to replace Mohamed Salah with Eden Hazard. The Belgian is vital to Sarri’s tactics and this season could see him produce significant results. He is also in better form compared to Raheem Sterling. I have also decided to replace Lucas Moura with Aaron Ramsey. The Arsenal midfielder proved to be deadly last week getting a goal and an assist against Fulham. The Tottenham midfielder, is not in the best of form, and has failed to score more than three points in the last four Gameweeks.

Gameweek 9 Line-up

The formation, 3-4-3, remains unchanged. Mathew Ryan starts in goal for the first time and David De Gea drops to the bench due to a tough match away from home against Chelsea. Steve Cook, who has been made vice-captain and Aron-Wan Bissaka start as defenders with Andrew Robertson coming in place of Marcos Alonso.  The Chelsea defender has a difficult match against Manchester United. James Tarkowski is still a doubt to feature this Gameweek. He accompanies Marcos Alonso in the bench.

In midfield, the newly acquired players, Aaron Ramsey and Eden hazard, start with Ramsey made the captain owing to his relatively easy fixture against Leicester. Richarlison and James Maddison complete the midfield.  Ruben Neves drops to the bench. Callum Wilson, Sergio Aguero and Aleksandar Mitrovic start as strikers. Both Wilson and Aguero are expected to give good returns this Gameweek owing to their easy fixtures at home.

The focus is on Stanford Bridge, where the mouth-watering clash between Chelsea and Manchester United takes place. The result could determine United’s and Mourinho’s future. The Gameweek 9 opener has the potential to turn out to be a thrilling affair.
