The Bardez outfit will be looking to cut the gap at the top of the table…

FC Bardez will be looking to cut the gap between them and the league leaders when they host Sporting Clube de Goa in the Goa Professional League match at Duler Stadium on Tuesday. This will be only the second time in the history of the GPL that the match is being played under the floodlights. In the first floodlights match, Bardez had played out a goalless draw with Guardian Angels. The Pink Brigade are not in good form as they have recently dropped points against bottom-placed Clube Sao Miguel Taleigao and Guardian Angels. However, a thumping win against Corps of Signals has somewhat boosted their moral. While Sporting are in fantastic form and are the only team unbeaten in the league so far. However, the only worry for gaffer Mathew D’Costa will be his defense as they have conceded two goals in their last draw against Guardian. But as far as attacking is concerned the coach will be relaxed as they have scored 27 goals, conceding only 5 in the league so far. The Flaming Orange stand three points clear at the top with 28 points from 12 outings, while Bardez are on 5th spot with 22 points from 11 matches. Team News The head coach Armando Colaco will most likely field the same players in the starting XI, when his side will be up against SCG. However, Lenston Afonso and Franky Oliveiro will not be available for selection due to injuries. Except for these two players, the coach will have everyone at his disposal. The Sporting gaffer D’Costa will be looking to field the similar team which drew against Guardian in the last match. But the red card in the last match will force the coach to keep Ponif Vaz out of his plans. The team does not have any injuries except for Joyner Lourenco, who is most likely to miss the rest of the league due to a shoulder injury. He might also think to bringing back Quan Gomes in the Starting XI. Head to Head This will be the first time when the Pink Brigade and the Flaming Orange will clash with each other. Man to Watch Joel Sunday - FC Bardez: The Nigerian striker has played a dazzling role in Bardez’s attack so far. The frontman has already scored 3 goals since his arrival in the summer. The former Aizwal striker is always at the right place at the right time. This has made him the target man for Bardez. With his ability to cut past defenders in the box and clinically finish the ball, he will be a man to watch in the match. Francis Dadzie – Sporting Clube de Goa: The Ghanaian forward is one of the best strikers in the league. The 22-year-old has already scored four times for SCG. Bardez’s defense will have a hard time to restrict the deadly striker as he is known for his pace and can surprise opponents with powerful long rangers.
