Signals started on a bright note and almost dominated in the first 10 minutes where they continuously penetrated the rival’s defence but none of their moves were capitalised as Bardez defenders cleared every danger.

Though Signals were the dominant side, Bardez surprised them with an opening goal on the counter-attack when their skipper Jessel Carneiro found Kirtikesh Gadekar with a long ball, who tapped it above the onrushing keeper Binu Purushothama but the final touch was given by their star striker Clinton Niasso to make it 1-0 for the Pink Brigade.

Just a few minutes before the half-time, Signals had a chance to once again put the term on the level when U-20 striker Cyril Dias intercepted the back pass from Bardez defender and tried his luck from inside the box but another defender Krishnanath Shirodkar rescued his side with a timely block.

Signals started the second session on attacking note and completely dominated the most part of the session. However, aimless shooting and poor final touch restricted the Army men from scoring the equaliser.
