Aslon Oliveira and Bamba Musah scored for the Curchorem side.

Guardian Angel Sports Club registered a 2-0 win over Calangute Association in the Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Monday.

Aslon Oliveira (33’) and Bamba Musah (77) scored for the Curchorem side. Guardian Angel Sports Club played good football and were in much need of a win after dropping points in last three games. Aslon Oliveira gave them a relief when he capitalised on getting a loose ball and taking a first time shot at goal which had no answer from the rival keeper.

Guardian Angel SC had atleast three more chances but Beneston Barretto, who came as a first half substitute for forward Agnelo Colaco saw two of his effort hit the post.

Calangute Association keeper Sanij Bugde came with a stunning save to deny Bamba Musah as the first half remained 1-0 in favour of Guardian Angel SC.

In the second half, Guardian Angel SC doubled the account when Gilbert Oliveira played a defence splitting pass to Bamba Musah who made a run in the box before unleashing a grounder in the bottom left corner, 2-0.

“It was a much needed win and I am delighted with the performance of the team. They played good football and today we very much deserved three points,” said Guardian Angel Sc coach Riston Rodrigues.
