GPL 2019-20: Guardian Angel edge Vasco to seal crucial win

Guardian Angel Sports Club recorded their first win of the campaign following their 2-1 win over Vasco SC in the Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday.
Bamba Musah (45’) and Benzu Clemente (77’) scored for the winners while Lago Bei (25) netted for the Port Towners.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]Both the teams were looking out for their first win as one drew their first match while the other —Guardian Angel lost against Churchill Brothers in their first league encounter.
The match was restricted to midfield battle but the Vasco’s Cote D’Ivore striker Lago Bei scored in the 25th minute when he made use of his physical prowess to break past Guardian Angel’s experienced defender Benzu Clemente and scored the first goal.
Guardian Angel SC had to wait until the 45th minute to score the equalizer when their keeper Prateesh Veettil played a direct long ball which was well controlled by Guardian Angel’s new signing Bamba Musah before striking from 25-yeards giving no chance for the rival keeper, 1-1.

At the other end, Vasco SC keeper Sanju Thapa came with brilliant saves to deny the Guardian Angel SC. Guardian Angel’s Aslon was another to miss a chance.
In the 71st minute Vasco’s Micky Vaz received a straight red card for his harsh tackle on Guardian Angel’s Leny Fernandes. Referee Tejas Nagvekar made no hesitation to give the midfielder a straight red. Finally in the 77th minute, Guardian Angel SC surged ahead in the game when Benzu headed in a Nicholas’ corner kick to make it 2-1. The final score remained 2-1.
