                          1-0

It wasn't the best game of the season and quite frankly was devoid of much quality. Est Bengal huffed and puffed but the hosts produced that one well-worked move for the goal and were resolute thereafter. So while Aizaw's fairytale continues its back to the drawing board for Trevor Morgan's team after two points from their last three games. Until next time its a good evening from the northeast.

81' As it stands this will be Aizawl's first win against East Bengal and also EB'S first defeat of the season.

78' EB can't make any headway in the Aizawl final third. The hosts are happy to let them have the ball on their own half.

75' Another knock as Rane goes down on the far side. I'm amazed how only one player has been forced out with injury as they have been falling like nine pins.

73' Aizawl corner cleared away.

72' The Aizawl physio has earned his wages today. He's been as busy as the players. This time Jaryan is down.

70' Bheke on the overlap gets a good cross in but Robin's header is straight at Albino. That a chance.

68' Another foul this time on Robin midfield.

66' Plaza is down and his afternoon is over. Haokip replaces him.

60' Another good ball dpown the right and as its played into the box Rehenesh punches clear.

58' GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL Aizawl. Ball played into the box. East Bengal don't deal with it. and Laldanmawia is there to score at the far post.

55' Jaryan and Bukenya tussling and on the back of some aft5ewrs its the defender and Lalramchullova who both get yellows.

52' Free-kick clipped into the box and a glancing header from Robin goes just wide.

50' Bheke's throw-in into the box has been cleared.

49' Its been a scrappy game with lots of fouls from bot teams.

46' Welcome back to the second half. Robin Singh has replaced Romeo Fernandes for EB.

It has been a stop start half. Aizawl have been lively but Wedson has had the best chance for EB. This game is just simmering it needs a goal to get into top gear. Back in a bit.

45+3' The referee blows for the break as an Aizawl free-kick is lifted in.

45+1' As Lalrinmuana gets some attention we go into two minutes of added time.

43' Ruidas and Mehtab bring down Amnah in midfield. The free-kick in midfield is taken short and worked into the box and as Bayi shapes to shoot Bukenya is there to block.

41' Another shot for Aizawl. This time Rane blazes over.

40' Amnah with a good throw and as the ball is played into the box Bukenya is there to head away.

37' Big chance Aizawl as the ball breaks to Lalrinmuana just inside the box but he shoots over on the volley.

34' Substitution for Aizawl. Laruatthara has tried to soldier on but can't continue Lalrinzuala comes on.

31' Aizawl getting huge crowds on the back of their strong performances in the league. A positive for Indian football.

30' East Bengal waste a corner as Anselme plays it to Ruidas, who passes to Mehtab. Mehtab tries to dink one in the way of an onrushing Anselme but just over-powered.

26' Narayan blocks a cross from the right and concedes a corner. A wasted chance.

24' Amnah plays a through ball to the left wing and a cross comes in. No one reaches to head the ball.

22' Romeo makes a zigzag run in the box and fails to cross. A heavy cross and it goes waste.

20' Kamo goes on a YOLO solo run from the left and manages to take a shot only to be blocked by a tackle.

18' Both teams play the ball from the ball and are trying to string a number of passes. Chances are being created, but the lack of final ball is hurting both the teams' attacking motives.

13 Lalruatthara has been hobbling and is getting some treatment.

10' Bright start in the early going. The visitors with the best chance.

7' Ball down the right for EB. Albino chooses not to come but Plaza can't keep the ball in.

5' The hosts being a bit slack in posession so far.

4' Another good move by East Bengal and Wedson rattles the post on the volley.

Team news

Aizawl FC is not having any injury concerns as well and expected to line-up the same as it was against Bengaluru FC in the previous match. Khalid Jamil has always been hesitant to experiment with a positive formation and is expected to start with the last match-day squad against East Bengal at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

On the other hand, East Bengal will be missing the likes of Cavin Lobo, Bikash Jairu and Anwar Ali against Aizawl FC on Wednesday with injuries. However, the Red and Gold Brigade does not have any suspensions to be concerned about, which comes as a welcome news for Head Coach Trevor Morgan for the clash against Aizawl FC on Monday.

Head to head

East Bengal edges over Khalid Jamil’s team in terms of past encounters. The two teams have met on three different occasions till now. East Bengal has won two out of the three matches against Aizawl FC while the remaining encounter ended in a draw.

Coaches’ corner

Khalid Jamil (Aizawl FC coach): "It will be a tough match tomorrow, all players will have to give their best if we want to have a positive result tomorrow."

Trevor Morgan (East Bengal FC coach): "We are not expecting anything less than a tough game from Aizawl FC tomorrow. Aizawl FC are having a fantastic season."

Man to watch

Jayesh Rane (Aizawl FC)

The 23-year-old Aizawl FC forward has been a revelation to the Aizawl squad this season. Rane, an enthusiastic and visionary playmaker has helped the Reds to build up attacks as well as tracking back to defend against the opposition counter attacks. A Mumbai FC academy product, Rane was groomed under the guidance of Khalid Jamil and has scored two goals in eight outings in the current I-League season.

Ivan Bukenya (East Bengal)

The Ugandan defender had joined the Kolkata giants in the last transfer window and is already being regarded as one of the best center backs in the country. Bukenya, who scored the equalizing goal against Aizawl FC in East Bengal’s opening fixture against the Northern club in the earlier phase has scored several important goals and his mentality going forward will pose a severe threat to the hosts’ defense in terms of aerial balls. Being a sloppy runner, Bukenya compensates his pace with a much-needed physicality at the back.

Probable line-ups

Aizawl FC (4-4-2)

Gomes, Ashutosh Mehta, Kingsley Eze, Zohmingliana Ralte, Lalruatthara, Albert Zohmingmawia, Mahmoud Al-Amna, Alfred Jaryan, H. Lalmuankima, Stephane Kamo Bayi, Jayesh Rane

East Bengal (4-1-3-2)

Rehenesh (GK), Bheke, Bukenya, Mondal, Das, Mehtab, Poojary, Ralte,  Wedson, Payne, Plaza.
