Robinson, Lamgoulen strike as Blues move up to 2nd in Group C
A goal in each half from Robinson Singh Khumukcham (19’) and Lamgoulen Hangshing (65’) was enough as Bengaluru FC ‘B’ cruised to their second successive win overcoming Jamshedpur FC Reserves 2-0 in a third round 2nd Division League encounter at the Bangalore Football Stadium, on Wednesday.
The victory took the Blues’ tally to 7 points from three games as they moved up to second place in the Group C standings, one point behind leaders Langsning FC (8) who have played two more games.
Going into their first home clash of the season, Coach Naushad Moosa fielded an unchanged line-up from the previous round and the home side go off to a positive start.
After a few half chances, it was Robinson who broke the deadlock for the Blues after earning a freekick for Gorachand Mamdi’s foul on him on the edge of the box. The playmaker stepped up and curled it home over the wall for his first goal of the campaign in the 19th minute.
The hosts continued their domination and went close twice after the half-hour mark through striker Lamgoulen and Robinson. The former’s toe-poke from close range was saved by the keeper, while the latter’s low attempt came off the woodwork.
