The Jamshedpur FC head coach also expressed his delight at having gotten the win against one of the best teams in the league.
Following Jamshedpur FC's 0-1 victory against FC Goa in the ISL, head coach Antonio Iriondo addressed the media on Tuesday night. Sergio Castel gave the Spaniard's side the lead in the 17th minute of the game, which ended up as the sole goal of the match. The Gaurs failed to find the back of the net, despite having six shots on target on the night. Speaking about his team's performance, Antonio Iriondo expressed his delight at how his side fared against the team he considers as one of the best in the league. While the Spanish tactician admitted that his team were not very good in the second half, he was glad that they managed to shut FC Goa out at their home. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] "Definitely, I am very happy with the result. We played very well in the first half. Maybe not that good in the second half, but we fought and we defended well," he said. "We played against such a good team as this. (FC Goa) is one of the best teams of the tournament and being able to win at their home is something to be proud and happy about." On Getting Four Points From Matches Against Bengaluru, ATK And FC Goa The Men of Steel have faced Bengaluru FC, ATK and FC Goa - all three of whom Antonio Iriondo considers as the best in the league - in their last three games. While they faced defeat at the hands of ATK, Jamshedpur managed to get four points against Bengaluru and Goa and Antonio Iriondo is proud of his side's return from these three games. "With all respect for the rest of the teams, Goa, Kolkata and Bengaluru are the three best teams in my opinion. We drew with Bengaluru and we won here. So, we get one win, one draw and one loss, which I think is a very good balance for playing with the top three teams in the tournament. We are very happy and proud of the result," Antonio Iriondo quipped. However, Antonio Iriondo stressed the importance of Jamshedpur FC having to maintain the consistency and ensuring that they retain the position at the end of the season. "The important thing is to be in this position at the end of the season (second in the table). But, obviously the way we have started the season is something that is pushing us up and helping us to keep working and trying to go this way. Hopefully, we can be in this position at the end of the season."Latest News
