It was a stroll in the park for the hosts who picked up back-to-back wins for the first time this season

Mumbai City FC laid waste to the Capital based Delhi Dynamos FC after they served up a 4-0 drubbing at their fortress, the Mumbai Football Arena in an Indian Super League encounter on Friday.

With 6000+ people roaring for them, Mumbai demolished the opposition with goals coming in from Lucian Goian, Everton Santos, Thiago Santos and Balwant Singh. The win has put them currently 2nd on the table ahead of state rivals FC Pune City who play their next game against NorthEast United.

Watch: Mumbai City 4-0 Delhi Dynamos highlights

Mumbai City FC

Arindam Bhattacharya- 6.0

Being the second choice keeper is a tough task, as you don’t get enough match time but are expected to be ready whenever the first choice is unable to play. Arindam stepped in brilliantly and deputised well for the absent Amrinder Singh. However, there were moments when it was either Delhi’s poor striking or just pure luck that kept the ball out of his net. The Islanders will be waiting for Amrinder to be back sooner rather than later.

Raju Gaikwad- 7.0

At 27, Raju Gaikwad, should have been at the peak of his abilities. But, since player development in India is quite slow, he is taking his time to reach there. Raju seems to be learning a lot from the defensive maestro, Lucian Goian and sometimes gets yelled at by 4-5 of his teammates on the pitch. He put in a strong show against Delhi and made seven clearances while maintaining 72% passing accuracy.

Abinas Ruidas- 8.5

Abhinas Ruidas has been one of the key performers in defence for Alexandre Guimares. His timely tackles, excellent forward runs and great presence of mind has ensured that he has built on the promise he had shown. Having played a total of 720 minutes, he has made 30 crosses, put in 30 tackles, made 29 clearances and made 7 crucial blocks, in the 8 games he has played for Mumbai this season. The sky is the limit for the young chap if he continues on this path.

Sehnaj Singh- 4.5

Sehnaj and Mirabaje sent off

Sehnaj Singh played as the right-back in the first half before ending his match with a 45+1 min brawl with Matias Mirabaje. A talented and crucial player for Guimares, he let the team down by being stupidly sent off.

Balwant Singh- 9.0

Balwant and Goian celebrate

Balwant Singh’s instrumentality on the pitch cannot be stated without it being an understatement. Having finally come out of the shadow of Jeje Lalpekhlua at Mohun Bagan, Balwant has been on the rampage for Mumbai and India and has been the weapon of choice for Guimares and Stephen Constantine alike. He showed his ability providing a crucial ball for Everton Santos which helped his team to win a penalty, which they eventually scored.

Balwant also ensured that his presence was felt throughout the game. He had only two shots on target of which he scored from one and ensured that his team had a positive goal tally and also became the top Indian goalscorer thus far this season with five goals to his name.

Sanju Pradhan-5.5

Pradhan made an appearance which was akin to his form in the last few weeks. He wasn’t very instrumental on the pitch and it could have been quite okay if he had not played the game. He did show bits and pieces of his brilliance, but those felt like cameos and not a feature performance. Lots of room to improve for this youngster who was taken off for of Sahil Tavora in the 63rd minute.

Substitutes

Sahil Tavora-6.0

This was Sahil’s second substitute appearance for Mumbai City and he tried his best to prove his worth on the pitch. He put in quite an energetic performance and was reprimanded by the referee for his over-enthusiasm in tackling. Tavora is still young and has lots of enthusiasm and gels well with his teammates and this exposure might propel him to be a consistent performer when the opportunity arrives.

Most goals, most assists, most crosses, most passes and best defence. Here's your plate of ISL statistics so far

Delhi Dynamos

Arnab Das Sharma- 3.0

Lord Behold! Delhi has found their new howler in the form of Arnab Das Sharma whose absence in front of goal would have been as effective as his presence. Arnab is a young keeper and has been deputising for the injured Albino Gomes. Arnab has a long way to go before even being a credible third choice keeper.

Pritam Kotal- 5.5

The Bengali boy will surely want to pack his bags and go back home after his 6th loss on the trot and having conceded 18 goals in 7 matches with his new team. Kotal is surely a talent and was raved about by his team’s owners, but he has underperformed for the capital club since having joined them. If Delhi have to win again, he needs to get his act straightened out.

Pratik Chowdhary- 7.5

In the sinking ship of the Dynamos, only one man stood tall and put in his all to ensure a low casualty count. Pratik Chowdhary put in his whole and soul into the match and if it weren’t for him the scoreline could have crossed at least seven for the Islanders. For a central defender, he maintained 90% passing accuracy and made four crucial blocks to dampen the high scoring Mumbai attack a little.

Nandhakumar Sekar – 6.0

A surprise starter for Delhi, Nandhkumar made his presence felt. The youngster missed two early chances to put Delhi ahead and ensured a great display till the 53rd minute when he was subbed off to get in Lalrinzuala Chhangte. He was one of the few live wires in a drab Delhi setup and if guided well might make a huge impact when he reaches his peak.

Romeo Fernandes- 6.5

Romeo Fernandes was the most frustrated attacker in the Delhi ranks. Romeo worked really hard for his team but the result went the other way and left the Goan winger winless since his return to action. He had 27% of his team's shots which says a lot for the hard working winger.

Vinit Rai- 4.0

Vinit Rai post-Mumbai City interview

If Vinit Rai was a magician, he would have dazzled everyone with his disappearing act. A midfielder needs to exert more influence on the game if he wants to be picked up for every game. Vinit’s no-show in midfield, left the Delhi team vulnerable in defence and blunt in attack. He needs to up his game as having only 13% of his team's touches shows a poor outing for the youngster.

Substitutions

Lallianzuala Chhangte- 6.5

53rd minute substitute Chhangte ensured an injection of pace down the flank for Delhi but wasn’t able to match the physicality of the Mumbai defence. He even lashed out at the linesman when his throw-in under high pressure was ruled a foul throw. The former DSK Shivjians youngster's promise might become a lore of the past if his team doesn’t capitalise on his talents soon.

David Ngaihte- 4.0

[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]

David was brought on to play as a striker when Mumbai City had already parked the bus after having scored three goals. He had relatively no impact on the game inspite of being substituted alongside Chhangte who at least tried to put his pace to use for his team. Needs to improve.
