The NorthEast United boss also revelaed that he is happy with his team's performance against the Kolkata side.
A 90th minute header from Balwant Singh was enough for ATK to seal the points and see themselves to the top of the table. However, another loss for NorthEast United meant that the Highlanders are now in ninth position in the standings, with 11 points from 12 games. Following the defeat, NorthEast United boss Robert Jarni interacted with the media in the post-match press conference.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]Despite the loss, Robert Jarni revealed that he was happy with his team's performance against ATK on Monday night. "Firstly, my players played a fantastic game. We have a very young team. Two players are 18-years-old. We had more chances than ATK, we didn’t have much luck because we couldn’t score or convert the chances. We have had a series of negative results. The only way out is to keep on working,” he said.
“Last match that we played against them on our ground, they had so much counter-attacking on us. But, in this match, we planned to win, not even draw. We didn’t want to leave much space in the defence to allow them the long balls and we knew that we would have our chances and we had our chances, but we didn’t score,” Robert Jarni added.
