The Bengaluru FC head coach also added that he is looking forward to the support of the fans against the Marina Machans.

Carles Cuadrat and his Bengaluru FC side will be looking to register their first win of the league campaign when they face Chennaiyin FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday. The Blues have only managed to collect three draws so far this campaign and a win is certainly overdue for Sunil Chhetri and his men.

Chennaiyin, coincidentally, find themselves in an even worse situation than the Blues, having collected just one point from their three matches so far. Ahead of what promises to be a crucial fixture for the title ambitions of both sides, Bengaluru FC head coach Carles Cuadrat addressed the media accompanied by midfielder Harmanjot Singh Khabra.

“For this game we only have centre-half Albert Serran injured. Other than that, it’s a fully fit squad,” Carles Cuadrat began.

Speaking about the way forward having collected just three points from three games, Carles Cuadrat said, “These are things that happen in football. It’s just sometimes we get into a certain dynamic and then you have to change the dynamic. There’s also a chance for things to fall into place. There’s not really an answer for that, because we have been playing well, but only one goal.

Thoughts On The Match

“Same with Chennai also, struggling to win games. So, I’m hoping that tomorrow is going to be the first one for us. But, for us, I remember that a lot of our players had chances to score in the last match. Except maybe Udanta Singh, everyone else had a shot on goal. The fact that six, even seven players had a chance to score is excellent for the team," the Bengaluru FC head coach added.

When asked about the challenge posed by tomorrow’s visitors. the Spaniard said, “Of course, they are going to come here for the three points. They have always been a strong team. Last season, we have good memories of Chennaiyin FC when they came here. It was the first game of the season and we won 1-0, but it was very difficult."

Thoughts On Supporters

"The supporters helped the team a lot on that day and they provided an added strength on the way to our first three points of last season. So, we hope that this is going to happen again with our supporters in Kanteerava,” Carles Cuadrat further added.

The Indian Super League goes into the international break after this match, which could help the Blues turn their luck around. Carles Cuadrat was asked whether the upcoming international break would come as a boon to him, or a nuisance.

Thoughts On International Break

"In this international break we are going to lose half of our Indian players and this makes it difficult. Before the start of the season as well, we didn’t have six players working with the team, but this is football, and it happens - no problem,” the 51-year-old answered.

Thoughts On His Team

“We are working well and the whole squad is looking very fit. One of the big positives about Bengaluru is that we have a system in place and a lot of the players have been following the system for a long time now. I think we have seen that in the first three games. Although, we haven’t scored many goals, the consistency of performance that we’ve shown in the three games has been excellent. I think we managed all three games well and on different days, it could’ve been nine points,” he quipped.

Harmanjot Singh Khabra, who accompanied Carles Cuadrat was asked whether he’s had to put in any added effort to move into the Blues’ midfield this season, to which he answered, “I’m actually known as one of the more versatile players in the Indian team and this obviously comes with added responsibility. I am always ready for that. Before kick-off whatever position the coach needs me in, I can take up. So, I guess I’m special in that - happy playing any role in the team."
