Chhetri 54' Bengaluru FC have put up a great performance after a dull first half which saw them perform only second to Kerala. They put themselves together at half time and now bear the fruits of their labour. The relentless attacking display from Kerala Blasters in the first half was completely shut out in the second as they failed to even get a shot at goal. Kerala can take a few positives out of this game with Rahul KP performing excellently, but add another name to their list of injuries. Bengaluru FC now move second on the table having the same number of points as leaders ATK. Kerala Blasters should now focus on getting their team back together and resurrect in the following games. FULL TIME!!! Absolute scenes as the Blues win two consecutive derbies. 90+2' Raphael spinning a web that the Blaster's don't seem to get out of. 90' Sahal runs circles around Bengaluru's defence to set up a goal, eventually ruled offside. 89' Substitution: Udanta comes off for Edmund. Four Minutes added time has been announced. 88' Blasters seem to be impatient now as all their attempts in finding an equalizer are going in vain. They must keep in mind that they are much more vulnerable now that they are restricted to ten men. 86' Kerala now have just 10 players on the field after having used all of their substitutes. 83' Bad news for Kerala Blasters as Rafi is taken off the field after he attempted an overhead kick to clear the ball away from danger. 82' Ashique fires at goal from half line, easy catch for Rehenesh. 80' Kerala giving their everything trying to find the equalizer. 76' Double Substitution for Blasters: Drobarov and Rafi in as Eelco now uses up all his Subs. 72' Great feet from Rehenesh as he denies Augusto who was determined to put that past him. 71' Kerala's golden boy receives Yellow for pulling down Nishu just outside the box. 69' Substitution for Bengaluru FC: Semboi comes in for Khabra. 67' Rahul KP comes very close to score, rolls the ball just inches wide off the post. 63' Augusto showboating his skills as he looks to keep control of the ball. 62' Substitution: Sahal comes on for Prasanth. 60'  Kerala Blasters find some voice as they see Sahal preparing to enter the action. 56' Plenty of action in the Kerala Blasters' box, Dimas and Augusto taking turns and firing at the goal. 54' Goal!!! Dimas corner, sends out a dipping ball headed in by Chhetri, big man, big occasion, same old story. 53' Bookings for Khabra for pulling down the Kerala counter attack, Abdul Hakku booked for the same. 50' Dimas corner finds no teammate, cleared into the other half. Bengaluru showing signs of a goal as they have now comfortably settled in their final third. 48' Manjappada demanding the coach to bring in Sahal. 46' Second half begins in Bengaluru. Kerala Blasters entered the game as a weaker side given the injury troubles that have been haunting them right from the start. But, that hasn't stopped them from putting up a fine display of football right from kick off. The attackers have played a main role in shutting down the Bengaluru FC's midfield with high pressing and relentless attack. Bengaluru FC have had their fair share of chances in the game, but haven't put it past the keeper yet. Raphael Augusto has been pulling the strings for Bengaluru and has time and again troubled the Kerala midfield. Rahul KP has been excellent so far and will look to grab a goal in the second half. It's Half Time at the fortress and the score remains unchanged. 45+1' Chhetri fires it into the side netting. Desperate times for both sides as they look to break the deadlock. 45' 2 minutes of added time. 41' Ogbeche is set up for a beautiful one on one with the keeper, fires the ball into the stands. 39' Eelco is absolutely furious with the officials and their decisions. 37' Plenty of action and missed chances, neither side has managed to score yet. 35' Serran misses a clear chance right in front of goal, heads the ball way above the bar. 30' Sandhu steps out of the box to clear a loose ball away from the Kerala attackers. 27' Raphael nets one in off an Udanta cross, linesman claims that the ball had beem out of play. 25' Blasters are going all out on attack, they have four players in the opponent's box, they just aren't finding the right ball. 24' Rahul KP and Raphael Messi combine to win the Blasters another corner. 21' Both the sides are battling it out in the midfield as neither side have managed to breach their opponents defence. 17' Action in the touchline as the Bengaluru FC assistant is shown the yellow, the men in yellow are elated. 14' Udanta's back pass almost leads to goal, Messi's driven cross goes untouched as Bengaluru FC narrowly escape. 12' Long ball in for Chhetri who fails to get a touch. Bengaluru FC starting to look comfortable now. 9' Paartalu's header off Ashique's cross just goes wide of the frame. 7'  Corner for Kerala after Rahul's header deflects off the Bengaluru defence. 1' Kick Off!! 7:28 pm: Pre match formalities now complete, both the sides look to settle in their positions. The fans however are in no mood to settle. 7:23 pm: The players take to the field to a packed crowd in Bengaluru. 7:18 pm: The backroom staff and substitutes take their place in the dugout. Huge reception for the Kerala main man Sahal as he starts from the bench tonight. 7:15 pm: The fans have already lit up the stadium, it's up to the players to take it to the pitch now as we await their arrival. 7:10 pm: It's absolutely buzzing out here at Sree Kanteerava in Bengaluru as the Manjappada have outnumbered the blues at their own home ground. 7:00 pm: The Line Ups are out Bengaluru FC: Sandhu(Gk), Nishu, Juanan, Serran, Khabra; Paartalu, Dimas, Augusto; Ashique, Chhetri, Udanta Substitutes: Lyngdoh, Kean Lewis, Rino, Semboi, Gill(GK), Gursimrat, Edmund. Carles Cuadrat feels Bengaluru should have won more games

“We have been doing all our work in the right way from the start of the season. We got a good result last time, but the other three games could’ve also been victories, had things gone a different way.”

Carles Cuadrat was asked whether his team’s heavy involvement with the national side would have a negative effect in terms of fatigue, when compared to Kerala Blasters, who had fewer representatives. The Spaniard responded, “I am always trying to be positive. You can look at it like that. Or you can think that my players are participating in games in big competitions, that gives them that extra bit of experience and learning.” “When you play at the international level, it is a good challenge for any player in the world. So, I have no problem with that,” said Carles Cuadrat.

Eelco Schattorie points out that he is without his best players

Eelco Schattorie explained that his bench is all in to give their best for the team. He said, “The players that we have currently are willing to give it their all and perform at their best tomorrow. I definitely won’t have my strongest team on the pitch, but we’re looking to fight it out with the current set of players.”

“As a club we’re trying our best to achieve a lot of things. At the start of the season, all the attention was towards how good the recruitment has been. Unfortunately, we lost a lot of players who were part of the main setup due to injuries.” “We’ve lost our main centre-halves in defence and also lost players in the midfield. Right now, we’re going to give our best and work with what we have.”
