The Spanish tactician drew a comparison between the quality of the players of both the teams.

Defending champions Bengaluru FC eased to a 3-0 win against Odisha FC to move past ATK and FC Goa to top the ISL table. The home team dominated the proceedings on the night with goals from Sunil Chhetri, Rahul Bheke and Deshorn Brown, sealing the business for the Blues. The Josep Gombau led Odisha FC saw most of the ball but were not clinical enough and ended up succumbing to Carles Cuadrat & Co. Josep Gombau emphasized on this while talking about their performance as he said, "We need to improve. The three goals we conceded today were from a corner, free-kick and penalty. In the first 30 minutes, we were totally in control of the game and we played some good football but after that, with the injuries[to Aridane and Tebar] it became difficult for us." "As I said, after the injuries, it became very difficult but I said to the players that I'm proud of their work as we play with a long of young players. I think they compete well and I think they should be happy with the work they've done." He added, "This is a game we can learn from and when you win you need to be a good winner but when you lose you also need to be a good loser. Today we lost but we grow with this. I'm proud of my players and there are a lot of positives that I see in my team." "We approach the season like every team, we take it game-by-game and we have this mentality. We lost key players and every game is different. Over the last seven games, we've won five and we've lost two. It's a very positive run and the football we play and the mentality is what I want." The players know the scale and they are trying to play the football that we want to play and we make mistakes but we learn from that," Josep Gombau concluded. Odisha FC remain fourth on the table but are in increasing danger of being usurped by Mumbai City FC who are only two points behind them. Odisha host Goa next Wednesday whereas the defending champions will entertain bottom-placed Hyderabad FC next Thursday, 30 January.
