There were several disappointing performances on the night, especially from the away side.

Carles Cuadrat’s Bengaluru FC rose to the top of the Indian Super League after dispatching the high-flying Odisha FC by a 3-0 scoreline. The Blues started the game looking like the stronger side and they were quick to impart their dominance on the fixture.

New signing Deshorn Brown opened the scoring for Bengaluru before goals from Rahul Bheke and Sunil Chhetri ensured that the three points stayed away from Odisha.

Here are the player ratings from Bengaluru FC Vs Odisha FC:

Bengaluru FC

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu- 7

The Blues’ shot-stopper had very little to deal with over the course of the tie and looked quite secure whenever called into action. Released the ball effectively at times too.

Rahul Bheke- 7

The defender positioned himself superbly well to tap in the second Bengaluru goal and did a decent job at the back. Despite a couple of mistakes, put up a good attacking display as well.

Harmanjot Khabra- 7

The versatile Indian was deployed at full-back by Carles Cuadrat today and he excelled over the course of the tie. Worked hard to move the Blues forward and was a constant out-ball.

Suresh Singh Wangjam- 6.5

The midfield made a couple of decent passes in the first half but never quite looked up to the pace of the game. Effective when the Blues tried to play out from the back.

Udanta Singh- 8.5

The speedster made a smashing return to the first-team as he played in a couple of sensational balls into the box. Should’ve got a second assist in the first half but Brown sent his shot wide.

Sunil Chhetri- 6.5

The skipper was far from his best on the night as he failed to make his usual attacking impact. Slotted home the Bengaluru penalty superbly to further extend their lead.

Substitutes

Nishu Kumar- 7.5

The full-back worked extremely hard by tracking back and putting in a couple of excellent crosses as well. Did well on the counter too.

Ashique Kuruniyan- 7.5

The speedster added a sense of agility and guile to the Blues’ attack after coming on and further ensured that the tiring Odisha midfielders weren’t able to come back into the game.

Odisha FC

Arshdeep Singh- 7

Couldn’t have done too much about either of the first-half Bengaluru goals while the Chhetri penalty was nearly unsavable. Made a couple of decent stops to keep Udanta Singh off the scoresheet.

Shubham Sarangi- 6

The full-back was given a tough time by Rahul Bheke’s movement in the first half and it got worse once Nishu Kumar entered in his stead. Picked up an unnecessary booking as well.

Gaurav Bora- 6

The centre-half didn’t have too much to his way as he was constantly being outmuscled by the sheer physicality of Deshorn Brown. Needed to mark his man better from set-pieces too.

Narayan Das- 5.5

Had the extremely strenuous task of dealing with Udanta Singh down the Bengaluru right. Despite starting the game decently, struggled to deal with the speedster’s pace.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga- 6

The speedster tried his best to have any sort of attacking influence but was kept largely at bay by the Bengaluru defence. Tracked well by both Rahul Bheke and Nishu Kumar.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia- 6

Like his winger partner, did next to nothing to amp up the voices of the travelling supporters. Made a couple of decent passes in the first half but slowly faded out of the game.

Substitutes

Seiminmang Manchong- 5

Came into the centre-forward position in the first-half in place of a struggling Aridane. Was quite literally a spectator for the rest of the fixture.

Mohammad Sajid Dhot- 6

Did a better job than Shubham Sarangi but didn’t influence the tie in any way.
