The tactician also stated that the healthy rivalry between the two teams is good for Indian football.
Coach Carles Cuadrat along with midfielder Dimas Delgado met the press ahead of Bengaluru FC’s first away match of the season against FC Goa this Monday.
Speaking about the challenge that FC Goa pose, Carles Cuadrat said, “Goa is always a very demanding visit. They have a wonderful team and have managed to retain the squad just like Bengaluru FC. The matches against FC Goa have always been interesting and a treat to watch for the fans. I expect it to be the same and hope we put on a show.”
Carles Cuadrat was asked about the challenge involved in bringing in a new striker to the squad, on which he said, “Miku is a big miss. But, we managed to create chances and score last season, when Miku was out for half of the season with injury. It isn’t much of a problem, as we are trying out different systems, creating chances with the players that have come into the squad.”

Dimas further added, “Manuel (Onwu) has arrived with a good motive and a hunger to score goals. We are looking forward to helping him achieve the best with the club. Currently, we aren’t worried about missing anyone because we as a group are a powerful team and we keep working to get better."
When asked about Manuel Onwu’s performance he said, “I was happy with Manuel’s performance last game and he is getting well with the squad and performs well in training. He is still working and trying to help contribute to the team."
Carles Cuadrat highlighted how well the players in the squad adapt to different positions and that this adds as an advantage, as he can try out different combinations against different opponents.

The coach spoke about the missed opportunities against NorthEast United and goal conversion. He said that, “We had chances from Nishu (Kumar), Ashique (Kuruniyan), (Sunil) Chhetri and Udanta (Singh) and it’s good to see so many players involved in the attack. It's not a problem that they didn’t score. As long as there are plenty of chances created we can always manage to score a goal.”
Dimas spoke about his partnership with newcomer Raphael (Augusto) and he stated, "Raphael and I have a good partnership on and off the field. We look forward to be doing well with the team. He adds a very creative style to the play and will be very important in the days to come."
The coach spoke about how the previous meetings with FC Goa have always been very interesting and explained that the teams have maintained a healthy rivalry.
