The Hyderabad FC head coach also had words of praised for his side's next opponents in NorthEast United.

Ahead of his side's game against NorthEast United, Hyderabad FC head coach Phil Brown interacted with the media on Wednesday afternoon.

The Englishman was ecstatic with the turnout in their first home game at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium and thought that there was a transfer of energy from the stands to the pitch as his team bagged all three points marking their maiden win of the season.

"I thought there was an instant interaction with the crowd with the spirit they showed in the second half and consequently got the win because of that," Phil Brown began.

"I thought the crowd appreciated that it was translated off and back on the pitch. they motivated us and we motivated them. we never played there before as a brand new franchise," he added.

"In football, some things cannot be measures. I try to measure things in my power but the ambience was something we can only witness. In football, it is one of the most rewarding things," Phil Brown quipped.

The Englishman also revealed that he does not want to get carried away with the win against Kerala Blasters and despite the the injury scares, he wants to stay positive and put up a similar performance against NorthEast United.

On Staying Positive

"We still have got a fairly extensive injury list. We focused on the things we had on Sunday than what we hadn't. We focused on the players we had and a lot of times people tend to dwell in negativity with the number of players missing but we cannot afford to do that. We can keep it to ourselves. A lot of players played with injuries, injections, we showed character and won the game. We need to continue that rhythm," Phil Brown stated.

Injuries have taken a serious toll on Hyderabad FC, however, Phil Brown feels if his side shows character once again, they can get a result. He also pointed out the areas of strengths for NorthEast United, who are currently unbeaten in the league.

On The Game

"I will pick the strongest team available. We need to keep the character we showed in the last match but we have injuries as we are also carrying a few from the last game. So I may have to change my tactics, and also may have to change the gameplay and formation as well," the Hyderabad FC head coach revealed.

"We know the team we are coming up against is a very good team and they got a lot of discipline. They are very organized defensively and have a strike force with Asamoah Gyan, who can win a match on his own," Phil Brown continued.

Immediate Aim

The 60-year-old tactician has set short targets for his team  for now, as he wants to aim for a win against NorthEast United and go into the International break with six points. The break will also allow their players some time to recover and with two wins from four games it the team will be in good stead for the remaining games.

"I think momentum is very important in football. If we can get back to back wins ahead of the international break then we come back with a stronger feel of the ISL with many players back from injury," Phil Brown opined.

Thoughts On Gameplay

The tactician was quizzed about how his team manages to play balanced football and get the ball up the pitch with intent.

"It has a lot to do with the Marko (Stankovic), his presence makes the midfield a lot stronger which is also because of the defence. I think there were two massive players, especially Shankar (Sampingiraj) at the back allowed Marko to feed the strikers with a little bit of kick. But now if a few players are not available then we need to change our plans but at this point, we might continue with the same team."

Phil Brown concluded the press conference by stating his targets for now as he once again mentioned the momentum required for his team to perform well.

"We had a difficult start and a difficult pre-season and momentum will be a crucial part to play and if we can go to the international break with six points, then it will be a boost for the next 14 games which is the long haul. We will do what we did against Kerala (Blasters) and hopefully, the crowd will also help as well. We want to go to the international break in a positive mood," he signed off.
