It turned out be a decent evening for the domestic players on both sides.

Mumbai City FC completed an excellent 2-1 victory over Jamshedpur FC through a late winner from Bidyananda Singh in a match that was definitely fought closely between both the teams. Noe Acosta commenced the goal-scoring spree by converting an early spot-kick awarded to his side. However, Jorge Costa’s men fought back with goals apiece from Amine Chermiti and Bidyananda, as aforementioned; to emerge victorious in an extremely integral game that is also their penultimate home match in the league stages of this campaign. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Here, we rate the Indian players involved in this match.

Mumbai City FC

Amrinder Singh - 7 Amrinder wasn’t really tested much by Jamshedpur’s forwards during the first half  of the game except the odd set-piece situations where he demonstrated his authoritative stature inside the box brilliantly. He could have predicted Noe Acosta’s spot-kick a tad bit better as the Spaniard took a rather predictable approach whilst on his way to slot the ball in. However, Singh’s stunning reflex stop off Sergio Castel’s header turned out to be extremely crucial for the home team as the game entered its final stages. Mohammed Rafique - 5.5 Mohammed Rafique started off on a hasty note and indulged in tackles and challenges on a slightly more rushed way. However, as he settled in, Rafique’s nerves seemed to ease down and he put in four clearances, interceptions and three blocks in the game. He might have to curb down on his tendency to commit such tackles if he is to save himself from the wrath of the referee furthermore. Pratik Chaudhari - 6 Pratik Chaudhari has developed an immensely reliable partnership with Mato Grgic and his return to the starting lineup surely added more solidity, steel and energy into the back-line. He doesn’t refrain from putting in those dicey tackles for the overall benefit of the team but always ensures he has a cushion of security by not going overboard on those moves. His presence is proving to be vital in Sarthak Golui’s absence for the side surely. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Subhasish Bose - 3.5 Subhasish looked to be a bit lost during the proceedings, and failed to track down Aniket Jadhav in the move that preceded the referee awarding Jamshedpur the spot-kick in the first place. Bose tried to compensate for that with providing an attacking outlet from the left wing but even there, his final deliveries left much to be desired. He certainly needs to upstage his outputs considering Mumbai would be facing the Gaurs in the coming game. Rowllin Borges - 7 Rowllin Borges continued with his streak of commendable performances for Mumbai as his contribution on both fronts of the game was really impressive. Borges tackled the opposition players seven times, but it was the way that he sprayed passes especially to Diego Carlos particularly in the first half that demonstrated a template that Jorge Costa has tried to implement in the team’s style of play ever since coming up with the duo of Borges and Sourav Das in the middle right since the match against Hyderabad towards the end of the previous calendar year. Sourav Das - 5.5 Sourav Das was substituted after the first half and he being booked already once in the game was one of the reasons behind that decision. Das’ outing was particularly ambiguous as such in the sense that he made some arguably unnecessary challenges and fouls but also played a rather safe brand of football with respect to his passes. Unlike some of the games before this one, he hardly tried to move the ball to the flanks with some loopy deliveries and stuck to the routine passes that helped Mumbai attain greater possession in the game. Raynier Fernandes - 4.5 Raynier started on the right flank but the team felt Modou Sougou’s absence big time as neither the local lad nor Serge Kevyn were able to replicate the Senegalese’s impact from that position on the field. He moved across the frontline quite a bit and tried out some of his attractive footwork but was later substituted off so that Mumbai City FC's Kevyn could exploit the spaces that Jamshedpur FC generally leave vacant on the left flank. Bidyananda Singh - 6.5 Bidyananda was constantly involved in the proceedings from the centre of the park, and the head coach even reiterated in the post-match press conference that Singh has a talent over the ball that was specifically evident through the way he put the ball into the back of the net from a fair distance in the closing stages of the game to aid his team clinch very important three points from this match. Subrata Paul - 6 Like his fellow custodian from the other end, Subrata wasn’t tested consistently from the open play. Amine Chermiti’s header was an absolute bullet and could not be thwarted under majority of the circumstances. However, there was an occasion in the second half where Mohamed Larbi looked to put in a cross that could have turned out to be the Islanders’ second goal but Paul’s handling of that situation raked of his usual confident self under such delicate situations. Narender Gahlot - 6.5 The youngster displayed incredible tenacity and concentration whilst coming up against the rampaging Diego Carlos. His understanding of the game situations appears to be commendable, as there were instances when he showed patience on 1v1 scenarios and cleanly took the ball away from his adversaries. It was an encouraging performance from the young lad. Sandip Mandi - 5.5 Sandip Mandi had limited influence on the game. One of the primary reasons for the same was the fact that Mumbai didn’t really have a laudable presence from the right-flank as Raynier and later Kevyn were unable to put up anything significant during their respective tenures on the field. Mandi was alert enough to put in the required tackles during apt situations though. Joyner Lourenco - 4 Lourenco was unable to get on the ball on quite a lot of situations and had garnered merely five passes throughout the first 90 minutes on the field. Chermiti toyed around with him on a few incidents with his clever runs and the 28 year-old seemed to be a bit lost whenever Mumbai seemed to pile up the offensive moves upon them. [KH_ADWORDS type="1" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Aniket Jadhav - 6.5 Aniket Jadhav’s substitution looked to be a bit surprising move as the lad was a constant threat to a dismayed Subhasish Bose. He wreaked havoc with his timely, lively runs from the inward of the right wing. Although his end product was disappointing, he was arguably the only threat to Mumbai City that Jamshedpur influenced from their flanks. Farukh Choudhary - 5 Farukh was fouled by Mohammed Rafique in the early stages of the match and Choudhary seemed to be a bit shaken by that foul to an extent. Otherwise too, he put up more of a defensive input with four tackles, a couple of clearances and a block too. He didn’t put in any cross but had a handy role to play in earning the spot-kick that led to Jamshedpur’s early goal. Substitutions

Bikash Jairu - 5.5 Bikash Jairu was involved in the offensive side of the gameplay in his short stay on the pitch. He mustered four crosses and a successful tackle. However, Jamshedpur FC’s overall dominance over Mumbai City FC had waned out as the game entered its final stage. Amarjit Singh - N/A
