68' Sunil Chhetri (Penalty)
80' Serran (Header)
IT IS ALL OVER! Bengaluru FC take home the 3 points after having put a gritty performance and scoring two goals, one coming in from a spotkick by Chhetri and another through a pinpoint header by Serran! NorthEast were resolute but that was not enough as the visitors steam rolled them in the last quarter of the game and it meant that they need to go back to the drawing board and figure out where they need to improve to climb up the spots if they want to qualify for the play off! This is Sabin Castelino signing off! 90' Panagiotis Triadis gets the ball outside the box on the right, he tries to curl one in but he cannot get find the way to curl it and ends up hitting it straight to Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. 90' Substitution SURESH (On) - UDANTA (Off) 88' BFC are now wiling away their time to ensure a clean sheet and take those 3 sweet points back home! 84' It is now end to end as both teams look to score one! NEUFC to get back into the game and BFC to put the game to rest. 80' Serran scores!! Eric Partalu receives the ball from a set piece and crosses it to Serran who puts it into the back of the net! 79' Panagiotis Triadis has a very close shave off the BFC goal as the ball nearly enters the goal and is just centimeters off!! 77' Substitution: KH NINTHOI (On) - REDEEM (Off)       Substitution LAKRA (On) - NIM (Off) 75' After having conceded a goal, NoethEast is looking to press on the door and a very sure penalty call is waved away as the player is found offside! Nishu needs to make sure that he doesn't put his foot where Gallego's mouth is! 71' Federico Gallego comes on for Jose Leudo as NEUFC use their substitution to bring in some fire power! 68' GOALLL! Sunil Chhetri scores from the spot to give the visitors a lead! 67' BFC gets a penalty from a very dull passage of play from a hand-ball that had not even grazed the hand of the defender! Quite a horrible call! 64' Eugenson Lyngdoh, a BFC find, is warming up on the sidelines and it feels he might come on to play and that might add another dimension to this slightly slow paced game! 61' A fatigued BFC side waste a corner and reclaim the ball to send it all the way back to Gurpreet who launches a long ball ahead which is sent to touch! 59' It looks like Bengaluru FC are too scared to venture forward after being stunned on the counter in the last match. Sunil gets an unconvincing header towards Subhashish Roy Choudhary at the hour mark! 58' Apuia has had 22 passes completed and 2 tackles made so far in the middle of his park on debut! what a game he is having! 54' Both teams are keeping the ball in the middle of the park and are not reaching the final third! There seems to be an apparent lack of Quality in attack and this is going to probably make the game unnecessarily drab! 52' Apuia has been very very confident on the ball and off it too! Delgado tries to hassle him and foul him but the young one is sturdy and smart! 49' A scuffle ensues and Bheke gives away a freekick in a dangerous area! NorthEast come close but the attackers commit a handball and waste an opportunity. 46' It is Kick off and there is a substitution for BFC as Semboi comes in for Ashique! IT IS HALF TIME! Bengaluru looked to start the game on the front foot but were soon pressed out of the game by the Highlanders who were looking to play on the counter and also build sustainably from the back! Although NorthEast had many corners from prominent attacks, BFC had the best chance of the game that was converted into a crossbar challenge! The second half is going to be maddening if played at the same tempo! Credit where Credit is due! Apuia has been fantastic on his debut and has linked up excellently with the attack playing from a deep midfield position. He has come up from the U17 World Cup team and the brilliance in quality is well translated on the field! What a player! 45+1' BFC are looking to attack only the leftwing which is making them predictable and NEUFC are dealing well with it! 44' Reagan Singh puts in a peach of a ball for Redeem Tlang who gets his team a corner. NEUFC came very close to with a Chaves header but the BFC side clear it away! 41' Redeem Tlang gets a yellow for a foul on Nishu Kumar and Eric on another foul gets a yellow for a foul on Apuia! 39' Another Chance goes begging for BFC as Rahul Bheke heads the ball goalwards only to be collected off the line by the NEUFC Goal-Keeper for an excellent save! 37' Ashique has now slotted into the central role and Sunil looks to attack from the left! BFC are knocking the ball around trying to create something! 33' Bengaluru FC have the Chance of the game! Ashique slithers through the defense of the NEUFC side and Udanta throws himself at the ball and connects excellently only to rattle the woodwork and create the miss of the season yet! Dimas sends the ball flying on the follow through with no one blocking him! 30' At the half hour mark, NEUFC are looking to be the better of the two teams who have been pressuring the champs to make errors. 27' BFC have the ball but they are playing with a dread that if they lose the ball there will surely be a goal on the opposite end. The wide play of the visitors is being dampened and the home team are looking to build on the template that Mumbai City set for them. 25' BFC are facing intense pressure and it can be gauged by the fact that Chaves nearly nutmegged Gurpreet and Chhetri had to come all the way back to his defensive line to clear the ball away, or for that matter get a decent touch of the ball. 23' Another corner for NorthEast and the pressure is building on the defending champs! 20' The home team is now on the button as Lalthathanga and Chaves go for a neat 1-2 that brings them very close to an opening goal. The resulting corner is comfortably defended. 18' NEUFC should restrict the number of long balls as none of them have come to fruition yet and wasting a lot of balls is not ideal for the team under pressure. 16' NEUFC take a corner and come very very close and even have a penalty shout as the ball bounces of Paratalu who claims innocence. 15' NEUFC have the ball but they look not so confident as they keep losing the ball to BFC who are following a template of passing the ball to Gurpreet and building from the back each and every time. 12' Udanta takes a shot on target and the defenders are smart to force him in to taking a shot that was easily blocked. BFC then build from the back and Partalu takes another swipe at the ball but the ball sails wide. 9' Both the teams are moving the ball around but Bengaluru have the bigger chunk of the ball and are looking to dominate the game offensively and defensively. 6' Both the teams are looking good in possession but doing totally opposite things. BFC is rushing in to the attack while NEUFC are looking to build up from the back. 5' Chhetri lays it to Ashique who takes the shot which is collected comfortably by Subashish, the NorthEast United custodian. 3' Bengaluru FC are looking to pressure NorthEast United in to making errors but they themselves make one with Lalengmawia coming very close to scoring! 1' Kick OFF! Udanta Whips it in and the intention looks to be on the buzzer from the get go! 5.55 pm The toss has been won by North East United and Bengaluru will be kicking the game off for us in the second half. 5.50 pm: The players are on the field as they get ready for the National Anthem and then to set the field on fire with some entertaining football at today's early kick-off! 5.45 pm: The match will be kicking off soon as the players have retreated to the dressing room and will be soon taking the field as the fire cracker of a match kicks off! Bengaluru FC will look to make good on their Championship potential coming off a devastating home defeat that has broken their unbeaten home league run. They will look to recapture the imagination of the people and defeating the high flying Highlanders looks to be a step in the right direction. The NorthEastern side too will look to build on the template that Mumbai City has set to defeat the Champs and make sure they get their 3 points at home that will propel them to the top of the table comfortably. It is an intriguing game for sure! Starting XI:
