The Chennaiyin FC boss vented his unhappiness regarding the poor conditions of Kalinga Stadium.
Odisha FC cruised their way past Chennaiyin FC on Monday night, courtesy of two first half strikes from Jerry Mawihmingthanga and Vinit Rai. The dismal performance of Chennaiyin continues this season, as they succumbed to yet another defeat. Following the match, Chennaiyin head coach Owen Coyle interacted with the media in the post-match press conference. “It (the result) was a setback for us. Earlier on we had a penalty and it was a perfect opportunity for us to go in front, but we missed a wonderful opportunity,” Owen Coyle began. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] He also went on to appreciate Odisha FC and said, “The second goal was a wonderful goal by our opponents from outside the box. It was a great move by Odisha. Sometimes, you need to give credit to the opposition.” “But, if you see the second half, it was only one team playing and that was Chennaiyin. They created no chances in the second half. Their goalkeeper made a couple of fantastic saves. There were also a couple of penalty calls. So, the second half there was a lot of positives. We are improving as a team apart from individual mistakes, which will be taken care off, but we have shown we can win games,” Owen Coyle added. That being said, Odisha has a great stadium, great fans and it is a footballing state.” “There were a lot of positives in the game, but we had a slow start before I came in. We have a lot of work to do, but we have enough games and enough points to play for,” Owen Coyle signed off with.Latest News
