The Bengaluru FC tactician also praised the efforts of goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu against Odisha FC.
Bengaluru FC have peaked at the right time of the season, as the reigning champions have come back to winning ways, after edging Odisha FC 0-1 in a hard-fought match. It was a first half strike from defender Juanan Gonzalez which was the difference between the sides. Following the narrow win, Bengaluru FC head coach Carles Cuadrat shared his thoughts on the game in the post-match press conference.

"It has been a long time we weren't winning away. But, not only that, sometimes we were winning the match, but in added-time, we have conceded two goals and dropped four points. So my work was to talk to the players that we have, to be mentally strong to try and catch three points. It is hard for the team, as it happens three times in a short space of time," the Blues' head coach began.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]"Football is a lot of mental game. For us, it is good, another clean-sheet, two goals conceded. It is something we are building for the future and our target is to arrive at the playoffs. We know the four points we dropped will make the difference. So, we have to catch more points and it is a good start," Carles Cuadrat further added on Bengaluru FC's unbeaten streak.
Thoughts On Gurpreet Singh SandhuGurpreet Singh Sandhu had a great outing on Wednesday night, as he made six saves and looked commanding at the back. Carles Cuadrat showered praise on the India international, but also lauded his compact defence.
"He is having a great season, only conceded two goals and making some great saves. But, it is not only about him, we are a very compact team and we don't give options to opposition forwards to score."
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]The Spanish tactician was asked about the lack of goals from his strikers, as only Sunil Chhetri has stepped up to the occasion and the other forwards have not yet found the back of the net this season. Even against Odisha FC, it was defender Juanan Gonzalez who scored the solitary goal.
"I have to say, this week it is 5-1 in defence. We are working a lot in terms of scoring, but on the pitch, you have to take quick decisions, where sometimes you are better and sometimes you are worst. I think 0-1 is enough sometimes to become champions. So, it has not been our best game. But, we gain three points and I go for the team to arrive for the playoffs," he concluded.
